Christmas 2009; 12/24/2009-12/26/2009: Wow. Big, complex, meaty red wine. The round flvors of merlot with gruff, rough and tumble earthiness. This has to be Washington State merlot- it has such terroir that I would not expect from California. Really nice and made here in Illinois from northwestern fruit!

Brought a bottle to a dinner party and got less than one glass-full. Clearly the best Lynfred has at this time (although it's sold out). For a bottle that's less than $20, it has very subtle character, a very tasty palate, and a moderately long finish without overstaying the welcome. Four bottles left. Appears to have potential drinkability through 2010.

Bold, lots of character. Has the "Lynfred nose". Consistent cherry/floral nose and strong, but not overbearing earthy finish.

Really cool sour cherry flavor. Needed lots of time. Supported lamb chops well.

Nice, rounded out fruit berry flavors. COmplex- looking for a bigger piece f red meat than what I had for dinner.

Illinois Winery Visit (Roselle and South Barrington, IL): 80% Merlot, 20% Cab, Jones Estate Winery Washington State sourced. Excellent round full fruit flavors. Deep berry nose and flavors. Loved this wine!
