Tried this on St.Martin's Day one hour decanted to the traditional goose dinner: very well kept, clear cherry red. Well balanced nose with tobacco (virginia) and leather notes, on the palate spicy with a little pruneau. Not very long, will keep well two more years but not develope. A ladies wine now to drink with a handful of nuts ore a soft ripe cheese.

I thought maybe this had reached it prime - I was wrong. Completely integrated, very smooth texture, dark fruits, chocolate, and just a little bit of earthy in the finish. I will hold my last bottle for another year or so. I am now anxious to see if my younger Siran can develop as well as an off-year 2007 evolved.

Having tried a few 2007s recently we gave this a go. However this felt like a wine that started with average grapes and the winemaker tried to correct it with ripening a bit more and playing with the oak. The result is not bad, but definitely has an unbalanced feel and is quite heavy on the ripeness front. its an ok wine. 88

Cru bourgeois from Margaux with untypically high Petit Verdot. Thenose is not very expressive but if you listen carefully you can hear some of the magic going on there in Margaux. Leather, led pencil, cigar box, but really very calm unfortunately. On the palate light but not in a bad sense. Well drinking. Tannins give a structure without being aggressive. Note from the nose are there again, even a bit more in foreground now. Medium finish. Overall a good wine, enjoy with food.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #084; Margaux (By RG): Dark and red berries in the bouquet, also bell pepper, autumn and graphite and good oak. On the palate dark fruits, reticent, some bell pepper, round but sticky tannin with a good bite. Overall a good wine, especially for the vintage. Needs a few more years of ageing to be more harmonious.

Still drinking great. Very enjoyable, smooth, well integrated, nice finish. Not much else needed to enjoy a nicely aged Bordeaux.
