Wine Tasted at Acker Auction (Marea - New York NY): From magnum. Popped-and-poured, this kept opening and unfolding before our eyes. Brilliant richness and precision at the same time, with orchard fruit, mint, fresh herbs and faint tropical fruit hints all unfolding in wonderful combination and nuance. Wow!

DRC GE Lunch: Served blind I guessed 1978 Leroy Montrachet. The color was so dark and the fruit so mellow, but despite all that the completeness and majesty of Montrachet could be found. Sweet wine with cinnamon aromas. Enjoyable as it was, the reveal was shocking. Just had this wine last month and it bore absolutely no resemblance to today's oxidized bottle. I enjoyed it, but remain quite frustrated by the high oxidation rate in Ramonet's Montrachet.

Considerably riper than the 99. Where the 99 starts lightly and builds to a tremendous finish, the 02 is big from start to finish, albeit a bit broader and more viscous. If the 99 is power without weight, the 02 is power with weight. In any other tasting this would be a champion, but the 99 showed more precision and delineation.

La Paulée Chevalier Fête (Saison - San Francisco CA): Rich apple and baked apple aromas and flavors with sweet spice and mint. Very concentrated and weighty. Very good+ length, balance. The 2007 will likely become better some day, but this 2002 is certainly more enjoyable today.

Small glass, brief note. Lessy and nutty. Loads of flavors from a still young wine. Lots of yellow and white fruit and flowers. Great bouquet. Loved this wine tonight.

Fresh mint on the nose, Matt notes Verbena. Crazy young, this is basically not ready yet! Such seamless integration... This will be able to age for decades except for the dreaded POX, which starts to show up in the form of a clear butterscotch note starting first in the nose. Concerning, but wow what a wine.

Mostly Leroy Burgundy Dinner (Vaucluse - New York NY): Wonderfully floral with lemon custard, ripe apple, spearmint and candied ginger.. intensely concentrated to the point of being unctuous and texturally fat. In fact so rich and ripe that there was almost a hint of sweetness. I haven't had this wine in almost a decade and think it is just now entering its peak drinking window, which I expect to last a decade...or two. Thank you, JR!

A rather thin and empty bottle on both the nose and palate. Light herbal and mint notes on the nose. Vanilla remaining on the finish. Would have scored an 89-90

incredibly rich and youthful nose of citrus, mineral, stone fruit, oak and butter. Amazing depth richness honeyed butterscotch in the mid palate and finish. Kept improving over 5 hours. Like nothing I've ever had.

Infanticide, after 4 hours still pretty edgy, caramel and marzipan, slightly alcoholic, waxy, big palate with loads of stuffings and very long finish with lots of minerals. Will be wonderful in another 5years+, ling life ahead.

I remember tasting this from barrel and being completely blown away by the power, delineation and complexity it had - and wow, wow, wow... all of that potential beauty has made it into this wine! Amazing w ine, simply brilliant. Will says, "unresolved" which is probably right but I see nothing to think this won't be one of the best white wines of the decade. From 750ml, and thank you Carlos. A vinous millefeuille, with layers of cream, mint, limestone, toast and orchard fruits. It had near perfect balance and latent power with a finish that drove on long and hard.

Youthful, exuberant and powerful. Real punch and lift on the nose with white peach fruits and smoky minerals. It is rich, thick and dense in the mouth with waves of exotic fruits lapping around but possessing such weightlessness and detail. The finish just keeps coming at you and it is painfully young but provided plenty of enjoyment.

Monstrously huge and amazing concentration. Flavors and aromas kept evolving and intensifying. Still very tight, teasing us with its 97-98 point potential.

Focused nose with fine petrol notes. I didn't love the finish but still preferred this to the '07. 94+

Montrachet Dinner: 10 Vintages of Ramonet and Marquis de Laguiche, 1983-2002 (Oceana - New York NY): Starts off very ripe and rich but seemingly less harmonious vs another bottle from a few months ago. This slowly started to fade in glass from there. Perhaps 92-93 point wine to start, then a point lower when finished 30 minutes later, but This wasn't a perfect bottle.

Kleur: Licht goud-geel Aroma / bouquet: Chique en tegelijkertijd ingetogen-zwoel. Het aroma geeft zich in dit stadium nog niet volledig prijs. Opvallende toon van eucalyptus. Smaak / Afdronk: Opvallend geconcentreerde wijn, dik-sappig, prachtige balans. En dan, een wat tegenvallende finale. Mist de lengte. Algemeen / potentieel: Bijzonder verfijnde Montrachet. 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 14 + Smaak / Afdronk: 18 + Algemeen / potentieel: 9 = 96/100
