Oregon Pinots (Gary's Place, Hudson, WI): Medium dark red color. PNP, drank 1 glass over 45 minutes. Red currants, cherries, dry earth. Fairly spicy on the palate, medium body, firmish tannins. This certainly improved over a half hour in glass. Became pretty decant and balanced.

Bird Wines of Alcatraz or The Bird Brain Wine & Dine (Judith's House): Dark red color. Aerated into glasses. Nose shows oak, spices, subtle damp earth, briary, cherry. The palate is round, with medium body, raspberry, cherry, spice, underbrush, soft tannins, medium finish. Pretty solid.

Almost dark in color like a cabernet but not opaque. Nose strong and red berries with a hint of dark berries. Tasted really well of red currant, with a really peppery finish (14% alcohol). However a really good wine, perhaps a bit over the top to be a pinot noir, but I will drink it again.

Interesting black currant dominant palate for a pinot.

Evergreen and touch of menthol. Lively palate. Considerably well done for $34.
