nose - barnyard, stinky mouth - gorgeous, complex, boysenberry and sour plum, with hints of orange peel, juicy while still being tannic. excellent balance. A wow beaune.

On the dark side, masculine and somewhat brooding. Iron and earth tones, a good acid presence. Very nice showing. Young, but turning to aged Burgundy Pinot. Quite good.

In a much better place than a couple years ago. The fruit tends toward the darker end of the spectrum as befitting a CdB and the aromatics are solid. Don't hesitate to drink based on this bottle. Pop n Pour.

Pop and pour. My first Lafarge; a wine for purists. This clear purple/red beauty started dry and musty. 30 minutes was all it needed to blossom and shine. To me Greves tends to be purply, masculine, and mineral, and this wine is all of that. Young for 15, this wine is pure and naturally sweet, clear and dark fruited. It has a nice cologne dark fruit nose. In the mouth this medium bodied wine continues the dark fruit theme. Good medium finish... I like it.

Burgundy Wine Club Dinner: really a great showing - more approachable than a bottle several years ago. dark spicy fruit that is still youthful, no excess weight whatsoever, a firm mineral floor. then thing about this wine that most impressed was its complete harmony - totally seamless.

Pretty much as drinkable as anything I've ever had from Lafarge where tannin seems to be the house style. Not much of that here, instead this has a ton of gloss and relies more on juicy acid than tannin for its structure. Fruit flavors are starting to turn the corner into something semi-mature but it's definitely still in an in-betweensy state.

austere upon opening, and never became extroverted, but there was a lovely quiet intensity to the wine. ultra pure fruit and perfectly balanced structure and alcohol, this wine requires attention because it seems more reticent than it actually is. a wolf in sheep's clothing.

sadly this bottle, consumed with Richard was flawed. Hard to tell exactly what was wrong but a slight oxidation. Nose was quite elegant but flavor profile was a mess. Not too young, but mercaptans, harsh offputing tannins. Storage? Bad bottle? A typically Burgundian experience. More pain. Give me more pain.

Consumed over two nights- the nose here is just superb. Game, cherries, leather, saline, minerals- just on and on. The palate is not yet resolved, but the finish is there, so I expect this will improve considerably in 4-5 years. love the nose.

Light appearance with no hint of age. No overwhelming aroma with cedar hints. Peppery and black berry on the palate.

Blind Tasting: Beaune specifically, not Côte de Beaune generally (Camino): A thick and intense impression but not a thick wine. Ebullient even. With a little mint, shiso, spicy leaf. But then serious too. Long and unwavering.
My WotN.

Decanted and let breath for about 15 minutes. No noticeable aroma. Taste of mint.

Probably 5-10 years from peak, still very young and tight. The bouquet is beautiful but this is holding back even after a vigorous decant.

Tasting. Simple red and black fruit, somewhat short. Tight on palate, slightly bitter finish.
