Light red color, nose was a bit closed initially but opened up as the wine came to room temperature. This is a dead ringer for a nice CdP, perhaps Vieux Donjon. Subtle red fruit, spice, garrigue, truffles, cigar smoke, and pie crust notes wrapped up in a well knit package, no weak points whatsoever and a very fulfilling wine. I wish I had inserted this blind into a Rhone tasting as no one would be able to pick this out as Cali Carignane. Another winner from Ridge.

bright red colour with some bricking. some rubber on the nose but blew off leaving a slight anisse & asphalt nose. austere entry & finish with anise, rose hip & lemon squirt.

Clear very pale garnet. Fig, prune, plum. Low acids, no tannins. Cherry. Medium to short balanced finish.
