Well...didn't make it 5yrs from my last note...just 2...and there goes the last bottle of this, and my last Louis Michel GC. Very tight and solid cork in the bottle...but this one shows a tad more advancement than the last. Darker amber in color, nose shows some baked apple drizzled with honey...lovely chalky limestone, crushed oyster shell salinity, sea air funk. No issues at all though on the palate, as there is a nice fresh squeeze of lemon citrus, and vibrant sour skin green apple...good kick of energy...ginger and dried honey spice...softness of wax...subtle aged nuances of wonderful Chablis terroir! Although showing more signs of age than I would have liked, I do think this wine is very pleasurable and gives you that GC Chablis satisfaction...especially at the prices paid on release! So long my friend!

Pale straw colored; shows like a much younger wine; plenty of tart apple, lemon citrus and flinty minerality on nose and palate; almost austere. Acid is there but very well-cloaked in balanced texture. Very classic form.

Has it really been 8 yrs since I last had this??? Aging beautifully...shimmering golden green color, slightly shy sea air, chalk dust, apple and honey nose. The huge citrus acidity has mellowed quite a bit, yet still possesses a great energy to go with the creamy orchard fruits, drizzled with a little honey and almonds from age. On the mellow side for Clos...everything is of subtlety, which I kind of like here. No mistaken the terroir...salty crushed oyster shell, chalky limestone, more of a clean sea air funk...pretty florals of lime blossom and white flowers. Wonderful softness on the palate, citrus fruit wax, yet vibrant with freshness. Glad to have another bottle to try in 5 yrs or so.

Pure citrus aromas with chalky minerals. Light and extremely delicate in the mouth. Lovely, delicate acidity. Does not appear as concentrated as the Fevre Clos 07 tasted the same evening, but I guess that is more due to the lack of oak. Michel wines of this standard outlast most other grand crue's.

A Few Days in Paris; 6/10/2014-6/14/2014 (Various Locations, Paris): Yellow/greenish. Oh man, this is all bro thinness and stone upon opening. Light and pretty austere at first, but the underripe lemon eventually seeps its way through the rocks. Still, this is mainly about the non-fruit elements. The delicate style of the vintage combined with the unoaked vilification of this producer have resulted in a gem of an old fashioned Chablis. Warning-avoid if you are seeking fleshy, fruity Chardonnay.

a dazzling and caractheristic chablis le clos. will be even better with a few more years in the cellar. Still to young in my opinion. Had it against a Louis Michel 2005 that was just fantastic right now.

Doft av honung, persika och mineral. I smaken lite smörig med lite syrliga päron, kalk, sten, citrus. Både i doft och smak ligger där en liten ton av fruktgodis.

Loads of almonds on the nose, with chalk and minerals present. The nose is a bit restrained up on serving, but came along during the evening. On the palate this shows pears, butter, good acidity, tutti – frutti candy with citrus/lemon/grape flavors on the medium + finish. Very nice indeed, and more complex and typical Les Clos than the 05 I drunk against this tonight.

On the nose, Quite laid back, a hint of tuttifrutti, bee-wax On the palate, mineral and wet stone.
My opinion about Chablis is that the wines sometimes can be to transparent and at this stage do not the wine deliver what I want. But give it a year or two and magic might occur

Slow-O 1 hr, served with an end-of-the-world party Lobster bisque. Flint, chalk, citrus spray, river bed, apples and pears. Gains complexity and some weight with airtime. Good toward very good, but I've had better LC. Lowish acids, pleasant enough flavors and mouthfeel, with just a wee touch of almond on the backend. I think I'll wait 2+ years for the next one. 13,0% abv

Expressive chalky minerals, citrus fruits, salinity and that Chablis crunch. This is focused and fairly precise. Classically delicious. In 90 minutes the wine flattened out and became more one dimensional. I'm going to try it again soon as I don't get this wine.

Pale gold in color. Clean and fresh nose of lemon water, sea air mist, green apple, lemon soap cleaner. Tight yes....but as the wine warms....you get some very nice cut and crisp melon/lemon/green apple fruit, that's held hostage by a wall of minerals and stones! Nice textural play on some oily rich fruit...and HUGE citrus acidity and stones that pucker you up, keeping the fruit from exploding. I really like the refreshing vervy crispness of the youth of this wine, but it sacrifices complexity for now. Some nice white florals and chalky spice....but for the most part, everything else is in hiding. Will wait a couple years for the next one....but have to say, this has the makings of a super Chablis! ++++pts

Still quite muted. Seems to be in a difficult phase. Small hints of greatness, but could be much more.

This needed a bit of air time to settle down but was very nice once it did. Crisp fruitiness, good acidity. my last bottle. Drink or hold.

My first of three and happy about no premox. Drank with deep fried halibut. Crisp and bright. Drink or hold (if you are willing to risk premox)

Not very expressive. Ok chablis, but not grand cru quality. Might be over the hill or in a mute face..
