not totally undrinkable but super dark / oxidation dominant... drank on glass, tried it again after a few hours in decanter and then threw it away... sad

Bought 2 bottles in 2011, the first one was premoxed...this one was perfect. Just a lovely Grand Cru Chablis, showed great tension, muscular citrus fruit, a hint of pineapple, white pepper, lemon drops, sage, and chalky minerality. Just keeps on going and going, this wine is at a beautiful peak and could stay there for another 10 yrs if there is no premox issue. Lovely.

{2nd of 6 bought on release, perfect fill, pre-Diam cork was in good shape} Brilliant gold color; refined power, depth, and complexity that rewarded reflective sips and consumption over 4 hours. A great wealth of fruit and stony soil. Very very similar to 2007 Fevre Vaudesir Grand Cru, this has a touch more muscle and a little less in the way of floral elements, similar palate weight and sophistication. Touch of oxidation in the finish adds interest and complexity. Classy wine.

I brought a bottle of this to Flora Bar last week, and it was premoxed. I pulled this one and brought it to Farida for Sugarman's birthday, and it showed well, but we didn't finish it. It was great on the second night, at Suzanne and Kenny's for Rosh Hashana, showing a brisk palate of white and yellow fruits, white florals, oatmeal, good acids, and Grand Cru expansion on the palate. A lip-smacking finish of acids and mineral.

Full yellow. Brothy and full of iodine. Medium weight, not too dense. Wonderful feel and earthy complexity with excellent acidity and length. Showing extremely well and not plagued by odd apple notes as was a bottle 3 months ago.

Mid straw, with hint if green. Interesting citrus with hint of pineapple aromas, with balanced richness and int of oak. Mineral initial and mid palate, fades just a touch faster than expected overall on palate. Lovely with hake simply served. Overall, quite the most refined Chablis I've had for a long time (not one of my regular purchases), and a delicate, balanced mouth feel.

Full, dull yellow. Nose leans toward pear and apple rather than citrus, and tide pool. Fantastic, enveloping texture, terrific ripeness of fruit, soil, and salinity with average acidity at this point. In excellent shape with no hint of decline, moderate finish. I was also pleased that I did not find the cooperage to be as prominent as it was several years ago. Very solid Grand Cru Chablis.
Still fresh and very good the next day, although I found the apple cider quality of the fruit a bit odd.

With scallops at the Tabb's house for dinner. PnP. Light golden yellow in color. Initially nose somewhat muted (possibly served too cold), but after 10 minutes opened nicely with a fresh citrus fragrance. No premox (yay!), Lemon with zest of grapefruit on the palate and a tad of honey. Creamy, but some acidity remains. Missing some of the minerality I often get with Chablis. Still a very nice balanced wine.

After most of a case of pristine wines of this (which is excellent, on the rich and dense side for Chablis) my first premoxed bottle has reared its head. Fingers crossed a one-off but experience tells me this could start impacting others now... I'll be drinking up all bottles ASAP.

After a first premox bottle had a second look at the remaining five bottles in the case and since one seemed also slightly darker, opened it as well. This one seemed advanced for a 10 year old Grand Cru Chablis with a slight oxidative note on the nose but on the palate had still the acidity, minerality and tension you would expect from the wine. Am hopeful my remaining four bottles will be fine, and would suggest to have a look if you have multiple bottles. 93 for this bottle - entirely correct bottles likely 94-95

Oh wow, this wine is not having a good run. First bottle from a case of 6. Compared three bottles in the case and took the one that seemed just a touch darker. Light golden yellow, the feared oxidized touch on the nose, on the palate surprisingly oily for a Chablis, lacking the usual freshness. Still drinkable but a clear premox case

Like all the 2007 Fevre GC's, the Valmur is drinking fabulously. Two bottles last night, and this Chablis is right in the sweet spot. My advice - don't wait on the 07's. Drink them in the sweet spot.

From magnum; mild but pleasant stony Chablis notes on the nose but most exciting on the palate, showing marvelous intensity of racy flavor balancing the fruit and acidity beautifully. Still fresh, it has reached maturity now.

Full yellow. A lot of iodine and seashell, but also quite a bit of wood. A bit ponderous at first. Strong acidity and minerality were joined by a brighter core of lemony fruit. In the end, very good, but not at the level of the Fevre Clos from the same vintage that we had a week ago.

Premoxed upon opening that had only gotten worse when checked again 3 hours later. My first bad experience with a Fevre from 2007 vintage on. I was just starting to think they'd solved their problem with the diam corks and then this happens. Frustrating.

Heavy and awkward initially, this became briny, lean, and intense with air. Not sure it integrated completely by the time the bottle was empty, but it was still kick-ass and great with oysters.

Hmm, really tight and ungiving. Now the grand Cru Chablis owners' dilemma: do you hold them for more development and risk opening a stinky prem-oxed mess, or do you commit infanticide now?

Coravin Pull #1 - Compared to the '07 Bougros this one was more gold in color while Bougros was a shade lighter. The nose on this one was brie, lemon, sourdough. In the mouth it was round, full-bodied, moderate acidity. This was lovely but I preferred the Bougros this day

Very promising immediately. Young and initially a bit tight. Becomes better all the time until the last drop about three hours from the start. Fresh with chalky minerality and with powerful, complex aromatics that are classically Chablis. This was really a great bottle and I'm looking forward to trying my remaining bottles in a few years. Fingers crossed about premox, though.

An impressive Chablis in the making. Still very young and showing the power of the vintage. Even though it's showing only small bits of its potential, it's possible to drink now. Classic cool citrus, stone fruits and flowers on the nose, leads to a deep and steely taste. Beast in an iron cage, a proper Valmur. Should've bought more (at 45e) but they were all gone by the time I tasted this. I expext this to be wonderful in 5 years.

Pale yellow/gold. Citrus and floral notes on the nose, great cut, freshness on the palate with citrus and minerals, floral hints, super clarity and balance, still young, should improve with age if not derailed by premix gremlins.

Amazing, beautiful Chablis! A very pretty and appropriate light gold color. Beautiful nose and an incredible gum-smacking palate. Quarry dust, minerals, seaweed, Granny Smith apples and a very appealing bitter lemon presence. This all leads up to a long sea salt finish. Intense. This is what Valmur should taste like!
