We took this to Deflina Pizzeria in Pac Heights, SF and paid corkage. This is developing extremely well, and it opened up nicely throughout dinner. Delicious cherry, raspberry, and blackberry fruit with great structure and an excellent finish. Fascinating wine that everyone at the table loved. Perfect for Italian-inspired cuisine. 93-94.

An outstanding zin, but as third third in a series of wines with dinner for eight, probably did not get the attention it merited. Probably should have begun with this, rather than the two shirazes, but, you know: so much wine, so little time. Would certainly seek this out. Brighter, redder fruit than I expect from a zin. At 14.8%, the alcohol is just noticeable, but overall the balance is right. Could go a few more years, but drinking pretty well now.

The Blind Drunks monthly tasting (Rich & Dana's): Herbal red and dark fruit aromas, though a bit retiscent as well. Light-bodied, thin really, with soft red fruit tones. Short across the midpalate and no finish to speak of.

Yeah, that's it! Hop on the Zin express. Like a shinkansen, this tour the force rips your head off and replaces it with zinfandel fruity goodness. Black cherry-strawberry (and no vanilla) on the nose. Silky smooth tannins brings home the bold mouth feel on the palate. This is the poster child for guilty pleasure.
No appreciable deterioration the next day. I simply like this.

Wow! Maybe the last bottle was a bit off, or maybe this wine has come around over the last year. Regardless, this was amazing. Blackberry and blueberry fruit, very complex and intense, and a red apple intensity that Bryan Brick from K&L called, which I had never experienced before. This has a really nice finish. It's not super ripe or plush. It's more of a refined, structured Zinfandel, but it is very masculine and delicious. 93

Very nice zinfandel, very well balanced and not in your face like some zin's, no jaminess but just nice berry fruit with a full body and structure in perfect balance.

(Tasting room) Explosion of chocolate and raspberry on the nose. Classic Alexander mouthfeel, but incredible balance of fruit, spice, and chocolate. Again, props to Mike Dashe. Errin, the Australian guy at the winery, is a great guy, too.
Updated: After the bottle we had at home, I suspect my sample at the winery was this bottle's day two. Upon release, Dashe's wines are usually tight and better the second day.

Very full and fruity. No rush on this wine, as it has plenty of fruit (and even a bit of tannin) to burn. Good balance.

Still full and velvety, but has started it's decline. Drink up, it's time to go.

Plenty of cherry but not at all overwhelming. Nice round flavor, with structure fruit and character. Delightful and elegant.

Very tight when popped and poured. Decanted 2 hours and mellowed out quite a bit. Dark purple color. cherry with a peppery after tone.

Good balance. Could probably benefit from 2-3 more years in the cellar to soften the corners.

Way too early. Still very tight. This needs time, but it has the right stuff. 91+ with at least 2-3 potential points to gain upon aging.
