Another beautiful old classic Napa Cab. PnP. Aromas of plums, cigar box, tobacco, cedar, pencil shavings, black tea and the famous Rutherford dust. Similar flavors with blackberry, tobacco, cigar box, pencil shavings, black tea and the dust. medium body with a long smooth finish.

No way I would have guessed that this was an 02. This one did drink with some age on it, but I would have guessed 1996 or 97. Rape blackberry and boysenberry, hint of iodine, hint of soy sauce, hint of savory spice. Medium ++ to full-bodied and perfectly aged. Finished with aged blackberry character, but still enough of a youthful oak toasted tannin that kept this one very interesting. You really cannot ask much more from this wine than what this one gave today. You could keep this one in your cellar for another 10 years and it probably will change very little.

Ripe bing cherries and dark plums. Tons of cigar box, tobacco, cedar, graphite pencil shavings and a little black tea. Really enjoyed this and if it's past its prime, it's only barely so. Had this with a standing rib roast and it was a great paring.

Deep cherry red color in the glass with vanilla and toast on the nose. Vegetal flavors dominated initially on the palate with the body being fairly light for a Rutherford cab. The wine settled down after about 30-45 minutes and became more smooth and less bitter. I estimate that this would have been better 1-2 years ago - so I will plan to drink remaining bottlles within the next few months. I recommend decanting for at least an hour before the first pour.

Unfortuantely, we had this wine after an '04 B.R. Cohn Olive Hill Estates Cab and it did not measure up. The Pine Ridge was much more sublte which we could not appreciate in the wake of a bolder, more complex wine. It was actually disappointing given my earlier impressions of this wine.

Very youthful yet. Cherry milkshake upon opening! After an hours air it became big and jammy but some of the oak receded making it much more pleasant. More time is needed.

Drank 2 weeks ago on a cruise, so working from memory. Would have still lasted many years in bottle! Fairly tannic; had it decanted for about an hour, then opened up nicely. Loved it with a big steak!

We let it open in the bottle for about 45 minutes. Smooth, balanced California Cab. Sweet berry flavors did not overwhelm it. Even more open but not blown the next day. Soft tannins held up surprisingly well.

Dark Purple. Bright cherry nose with a little mint and earthyness. Sweet cherry, blueberry & plum with vanilla on the front and a bit of cola afterward. Smooth tannins in perfect balance. This is aging very nicely

Reticent nose. Nice low key Cab. In a terrific place right, tannins mellowed, still plenty of plummy fruits. This would never be described as a fruit bomb. A fairly short finish and lack of secondary characteristics keeps this from being excellent. Nice QPR.

Given some of the past reviews, I did not know what to expect. This bottle is at its prime. Let breathe in the bottle for about 45 min. Well intigrated with cedar and velvet on the tounge. Very compariable to wines at a much higher price range.

Wine had very good aroma and lingering finish with strong tannins. Not as good as a previous year, but should've probably let it cellar for a while longer.

Pine Ridge Cabernet vertical: The 2002 was the second favorite of the group with nice tanins and a nice finish, but not as full as the 2003; the group gave it a 90.

Why this wine doesn't get more props baffles me, just a great wine for the price. Did not decant but opened the bottle an hour before consumption and that probably wasn't even needed. Smooth, silky mouthfeel with luscious strawberries and blueberries and very well balanced at its current age. I'll have to probably consume the remaining bottles in the next 12 months. This wine flat out smells and tastes great.

Agree that this is an excellent time to consume this bottle - nice structure and balance. Did not require decanting - 30 minutes after opening, the mouthfeel was soft. Luscious dark red fruits with just enough complexity to make it interesting. Enjoyed quite a bit.

I really liked this cab for price point, nose: sweet cherry and blueberry, Flavors: full bodied cab, blueberry, sweet vanilla front, finish has a light chocolate and maybe a coffee touch, solid cab and should continue to evolve nicely.

Decent Cab with good black cherry fruit and a hint of cedar and pepper. Not a ton of depth or structure. Drink now, would be surprised if it improved with additional age.

Decanted 15 minutes: Great aromas of black cherry, cassis, anise, with a few hints of earthy oak. On the palate, pretty fruit forward with lots of blackberries, cherries, cassis, anise, chocolate and tobacco, with a smooth long finish. Medium full-bodied. A great wine for under $30. Tannins are mild and good structure will make it even better in a couple years.

Vigorously decanted for three hours. Lighter, bright cab. Bright, abundant red fruit on top, Slightly riper black fruit below. Lots of acid that will settle overnight (and with bottle age). Chunky tannins on the medium finish. I predict that this will be much better tomorrow.

From the bottle, it seemed a little confused, earthy and underripe, but showing caramel at the same time. There was good fruit, currant, and berry there, too, but they were largely obscured by herbal and grassy vegetal notes. I didn't expect it to get much better, but the green influences disappeared entirely after three hours, leaving a very nice Napa cabernet with bright fruit and sweet oak influences. Give it some time out of the bottle. The score reflects the wine it became.

A very good Cabernet with lush aromas of black fruit, currants, and dusty spices (if that makes any sense). Medium body showing flavors of dark cherries and black fruit with soft tannins and a nice balancing acidity.

Opened not decanted. Over ripe fruit nose, smoke with chocolate flavors and with the first taste a dollop of butter! That was weird. Butter taste went away with the second taste, a trifle tannic but not hot.
