Gifted by good friend Agelvis.....enjoyed after dinner with Mr/Mrs HMC.....slightly chilled, pnp'd but then allowed to come to room temp over 2 hours, as we drank. Nice lighter orange tint to the wine. Nose reeks of honeysuckle and other white flowers, and reeks is a very good term here! Medium weight in the mouth with honeycomb, grilled peaches or maybe apricots and a slight viscous component, not syrupy in the least. There is a faint taste on the ending that I can't quite place. Maybe indicative of the age? A very nicely drinking aged Sauterne.....thanks, J!
Post issus: Drank this at our home Frasca dinner during Boulder Burgundy Fest. Lovely! Like so many of my sauternes have been.
Color is a nice gold. On the nose...you can smell it immediately...it smells like saffron! The spice combined with the sweet apricot flavor was really interesting and delightful. On the way down it was a bit more harsh than others I have tried but still delicious.

PNP. Caramel colored. Caramelized apricot and honey on the nose. Smooth, sweet, honeyed palate. Firm finish. This was drinking very nicely this evening.

PNP. Burnt caramel color. Apricot, marmalade and honey on the classic Sauternes nose. Sweet, viscous palate. This is a beautiful wine, but past it’s prime, although the decline is very slow for sweet wines like this. Plenty of time to continue enjoying.

From 250ml, sealed with screwcap. In remarkable condition. Very pure. Loads of marmalade, lanolin, honey and apricot. It has good volume and flesh and is perfectly sweet without any cloying. The finish is so clean, bright and energetic, Bravo screwcap!

Mix of wines at Via Alta: Slightly odd nose of blue cheese, almond and rosemary. The palate is more traditional with a nice balance between medium sweetness and a good line of acid. Medium length and not complex on the palate, the wine might divide a room based on some liking the nose and others not enjoying it.

It was fine, good acid, nice apricot, not as sweet as some sauternes, no real dried fruits yet.

Nice honest Sauternes. Very good, but it was the end of dinner and I can't tell you more.
