Light gold colour. Lush on the nose with acacia, violets, apricots and feijoa. Palate has good mouth feel, with apricots and white peach. Finish has a little bit of heat indicating maybe slightly too much alcohol or and over-ripe vintage.
Over all a marvelous example of the variety and one I would recommend to someone who hasn't tried Viognier. Would be interesting to explore at the 8-10 year range and see how it's developed/if it can handle serious age.

Consumed over two days. Nose of grapefruit and lemon peel. Sweet then tart, finishing a bit awkwardly but smooth most of the way through. I am getting a lot of melon flavors that again are both sweet and tart. Overall easy to drink, and although I am drinking this wine without food, it seems like a good wine to pair with chicken marsala (?).
(Edit: adjusted the score down 2 points to 86 because my wife and I felt no desire to finish the second half of the bottle. Although the wine is tasty, drinking it on it's own reveals too much of the tartness and the mediocre aftertaste that we just lost interest)

Honeysuckle, toffee, caramel, oily and oversweet apples. A bit too sweet for my liking, and reminisant of some of the old German wines of the 70's. Not a re-buy for me.

Extremely sweet perfumed nose of flower gardens in summer. Captivating aromas. Lots of honeysuckle, beeswax, minerals and good fruits. Good weight, voluptuous and a bit oily.

A bit muted for a Viognier, and a bit too much oak. That said, still enjoyable, with good acidity and balance. Don't understand how this was in the Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2008, though.

Color: Light, Pale white. Nose: Sour Apple, Oak. Palate: Oak, Lemon, a bit Acidic. Finish: Short to Medium. Alcohol: 14.5 % well integrated. An easy drinking summer wine.

Very old world in style for an Aussie vigonier. Attractive, but subtle nose, carrying through to palate with some subtle apricot, peach and bitter lemon on the palate that carries to a tart (not in a bad way) finish of medium length. Some detectable minerality, not as prominant as a Condrieu, but present in the background. A bit more fruit extraction would have increased our score quickly, as the wine was otherwise nicely in balance.

Nice fruit and acidity levels. Refreshing. Not a great deal of complexity or finish, but that is not what I expected either. Very fine summer sipper for the price.

Rating is targeted at price point on this one. There is A LOT of oak in this, almost to the point of overpowering the fruit. If you're looking for a mid-week, after work quaffer for the back porch, this is your bottle of wine. It's smooth, enjoyable and goes down really easy. At $13.99, you could do a lot worse.

it was drinkable. not the expressive floral, peachy/apricot that I like from viognier. It was pleasantly dry on the palate. not a repurchase for me but not a disappointment.

When I first popped the cork, I was pretty stoked. Nice nose of citrus fruits and dandelions, with a slight clove spice underneath it all. Not giving much up on the flavor at first, but this wine has an impeccable mouth feel. Silky smooth and it just coats your whole mouth. Unfortunately, as it gained air, that spice that was underneath reared its head to show huge oak and a bit of butter. If this was Chardonnay, you would definitely have something here. But all that oak overpowered the beauty of this varietal. The soft flowers and vibrant fruit flavors that make Viognier great were completely muddled with cinnamon, oak, and spice. Grrr! I was thinking we had a possible QPR gem, but with all that oak, this wine isn't for me.

A bit overly alcoholic, but had the expected viognier light-syrupy sweetness.

Honey, peach nose. Palate is sweet, fairly oaky, a little buttery. Not much acidity, a little flabby for my liking.

Much better cold. I'm not a huge Viognier fan but wanted to try the WS top 100. It is a rich, oily grape/wine.
On night two it all came into balance. Score went from an 87 to a 90. Also served cooler.

Honeysuckle, apricot, some burnt caramel oak on the nose. The palate is oily, floral. Shows good acidity.

Walker tasting with Negociants, Solomon, and Vin Divino: 5/8/09: Rich and peachy on the nose. Medium+ body. Lush palate. Finishes with a touch of bitterness/heat. Overall, very enjoyable. 88
4/1/09: Peachy, but not overtly so on the nose. Lots of bright fruit. Tasty and bright. Very enjoyable. 88+

Really nice nose of minerals, and roses. Not too dry. Finishes with a wonderful mandarin/tangerine note. Quite full-bodied with an oily mouth feel.
