Very balanced and somewhat fruit forward with toast. Strawberries, no evidence of tannins. Nice Pinot. Cola and fruit on the nose. Really at a good spot now. So good in that when analyzing it on the palette the balance is there and it gave me shivers or made the skin prick up. When that happens it’s a life-changing wine to be remembered. Or it could just be a good or great bottle. See how this evolves. This bottle is definitely not past it’s prime.

Dark red with significant clear edge, mostly cherry nose, spicy cherry fruit, smooth with a bit of sweetness (not cola), finish was smooth with no tannins evident.

Very good bottle of wine. Fully mature with lots of spice, red fruits, tertiary flavors, and resolved tannins. Lots of acidity on first pour which dissipated after 30 minutes. The alcohol was a little out of balance and still was present after some air. Overall very good mature pinot with an old-world sensibility but the balance is what kept my score down.

Incredible division on this bottle, with about half the crowd finding it undrinkable. I was in the half that enjoyed it. Black cherry cola, with a slight fizziness that really did make it seem like a cola that had been opened for a few hours. Past its prime by a few years, but still enjoyable. That said, I wouldn't go out and buy any of it.

Good cork. Last of my bottles for this year. Great fully mature bouquet of dried cherries. Lovely flavor, dusty, dried cherries as well. Tannins gone but wine still wonderful.

Really quite dark, more than I expected. Hue is dark cherry with a coppery, auburn hint. Nose of pine needles (borderline turpentine), black cherry, and molasses. Fruit-forward in the mouth but funky. Lots of funk, sweat socks but with plenty of fruit, too. Mostly strawberry but other red fruit with some caramel and cola. Oak is detectable but far from overbearing. Spritzy mouthfeel with good acids present. Mid-palate is a little absent and the flavors are not super well integrated. Long warmth on the finish, not caustic, though. Nicely drying, too. The wine is enjoyable but a little out-of-whack. Definitely will have broad appeal, but some novices might think the wine is a little weird and disjointed and those with lots of experience might think the very same. It's peaked, so drink now.

Easily the best bottle of 6 or 7 2003 and 2004 Selyem blends I have had over the past two months. Lighter ruby in the glass with a nose of cherries, strawberries, menthol and mushrooms / earth. Not at all the unbalanced fruit bomb I expected, instead there was a good balance between the red fruits, supple acid and very smooth tannins. A nice frame with a longer, smooth finish with no trace of heat. A very, very pleasant surprise.

The fruit has faded a bit, leaving a more tart wine, a bit out of balance. Maybe this one is more an early drinker. A rich aroma, but thinner in the glass.

It took 2 hours to really open up and show. Its well balanced, dark berry and strawberry with a tough light clove and rose petal. Long finish. Another year will improve the complexity.

Decanted for one hour and served with a roast chicken. Very clean ruby red color. Very open and expressive nose of red fruit, some raspberry and cherries, some earthy and forest notes. Very full palate but nicely balanced with deep red fruit. A long and bright finish with no signs of heat or overly sweet notes. Another example of the solid WS wine making approach.

Opened for Thanksgiving dinner. Bottle opened several hours in advance but still quite alcoholic as compared with 2002 when first tasted. Relaxed in the glass after breathing and became much more balanced and less alcoholic with time. Give it lots of time to breathe and open up.

What I have expect to come from a Central Coast PN. Fruit - forward, not earth shattering by any means, but still very nice. Had with Chicken, Grilled peppers and Orzo and it fit well. A good everyday PN, but not something I would dazzle anyone with. My palate is moving away from these type of wines to more full bodied PNs like Sea Smoke, Kosta Browne, etc. I will continue to buy and use as daily drinker.

Medium dark ruby. Very aromatic nose of dark red fruit and earth. Nice rounded and ripe mouth feel, moderately sweet with some spice. Good grip and acidity without being cloying and candied. Very well made and balanced.

Expressive nose of cherries, tar, treebark. Dark red color. Nice, mouthfilling texture. Loads of fruit, but great acidity and structure to balance out the wine. Has the stuffing to go the distance. I would say based on the balance, tannins, and fruit, I would think this should really be signing in 5 years and possibly last as long as 10. Great stuff, especially for the price. I am always worried about Central Coast Pinots being too overextracted, but there is no hint of that here.

Big nose, strawberry, cherry with smooth after taste. A typical WS pinot. A touch of mushroom, earth tones...but overall very nice and what I have come to expect.

Wonderful nose of cherries and spice, very smooth palate full of red fruit. Paired with pan-seared veal chops with cippolinis & mushrooms in veal demiglace.

Didn't do much for me. Probably adversely impacted by following (by a day) an '03 KB Sonoma. This is a fine wine. Medium bodied, smooth, typical PN profile of cola and cherry, but not in enough concentration for me. Made me wish for more of something. Still a relative bargain and a fair wine for the price.

Red/crimson color. Tight aroma of red fruit with a chemical nuance and acidity. Nice rich glycerin mouthfeel. Rich red frjuit with round sweetness. Surprisingly nice. 5/05

tasted at the open house at the winery. This wine was stunning, and only $29 bucks. Was showing better than the 2003 russian river and 2003 westside neighbors that were also being poured at the event. Lots of cherry, cola, and spice....balanced.....and great mouthfeel. At the price point, had to buy myself an extra case! I'm not sure I've every had a better bottle of pinot at this price point.

Popped and poured. Honestly feel this is now over the hill. Should have drank within 5-6 years. Average fruit, no finish at all.
