Dark fruited, Vosne spice with both softness and power. Overall great balance. Lacks some depth to be exceptional but still a very nice wine. Drinks well now.

I like this wine. It took some time for it to come around. Tannins and acidity but after 30 mins it was all good. Lacked a bit of fruit but structure was nice anyway. I think this will be a real treat in a couple of years time.

Tasting at NK's (His House): The 2006 Brulees fulfils more or less what I expect from a Vosne 1er cru (spice, lushness, good intensity, etc.) but lacks a certain excitement; a touch of character which lifts it beyond very good to excellent.

Tasting at NK Yong's (Swettenham Road, Singapore): The best of the red Burgs on show, and one of the more age-worthy ones as well. Nose showed some burnt toastiness, bramble and wood spice to go along with rather buried dark-fruit tones. Palate was still a little tight, but clearly had nice substance, with weighty, rather rich dark cherry flavours spread across a layer of fine, mouth-coating tannins. There was also plenty of earthy depth apparent as the wine moved into a longish finish full of spicy notes. A nicely complete wine, with a nice feminine elegance and freshness to it in spite of its concentration. Still young now, but this should age very nicely over the course of the next decade or so.

From cask: Quite dense blood/ruby. Sweet rich and perfumed, but doesn't delight. Very pliant and acidic mouth entry. Quite fresh and tannic. Could get there. Worth retasting once in bottle. 3+

Yeh, this ain't 94p as I somehow thought a few years ago. But it is a solid 92p. Lovely ripe fruit coupled with tartness and bright acidity.

spice and oak on the nose and palate. Not my favorite style of wine.

Oui très beau. Mid-weight and slightly delicate. Raspberries at first, then black cherries. Marvelous food wine.
