  • Big wine on the nose and the stuffing. South Indian spices and floral nose : cumin+cardamom+jasmine. Quite unlike the later vintages in style which I much prefer. Missing mystery and allure.

  • Beautiful nose with bright red fruit, spice, and graphite. Palate had sweet red fruit with medium plus stuffing. Good length. A very good 07 red burg.

  • Nose was deep with dates, sweet wild berries, herbs, and soil. Palate had very good weight and density with dates and dark fruit. Verh nice structure. Cathiard’s heavy handed style certain lifted the weak vintage. After an hour of bottle breathing, the wine opened up beautifully. The fruit was firm and solid with rocky minerality.

  • NR as no notes and a holiday 'fest atmosphere (loads of drinking going on)... have enjoyed how some of my '07's are drinking these days, but don't remember being 'struck' in any way by this wine... hmmm -- may just be that it was late in the evening... will be interested to see how my last bottle drinks

  • Excellent showing today, fantastic on the nose and was able to hang in there with more expensive wines today. Doubt that ‘07 Cathiard Malconsorts would be better than this. Years of drinking ahead.

  • Opplevde denne som silkemyk, elegant og sømløs med fint integrert eik. Vanilje og røde bær, jordbær, OK lengde. En god vin og flott tilgjengelig nå!

  • Coravined. This wine is in semi-shut down, awkward stage. Nose is floral with hints of oaks. Big wine for an '07, showing plenty of tannins and acidity, long and slightly bitter finish. Seems to have put on some weight. Still mainly primary. Certainly does not display the lush yet weightless characteristics shown 3 years ago, time to wait, no idea when this will re-emerge but this wine should have a very long life ahead. Shows better one hour later, notes of flowers, coffee, oaks, and burnt sugar. Acidity subsides and tannins soften slightly but still abound.

  • Much too young still. Seductive, Vosne nose; palate is textured and creamy. Still tightly wound even after 30-40 minutes in the glass, and oak that hasn't quite integrated. But a very promising, elegant wine that showed well with food.

  • Floral and spice driven start with a cross-section of B&R cherry on both nose and palate. Lots of spice flavors that comes across as very Vosne-like, with lots of good textures. Very good now.

  • This does not have the weightless feel to it unlike a couples of bottle sometimes last year, nevertheless, this is still very good. Delicious as usual, one of the best purchase over the last few years. (A)

  • This is in the process of shutting down again. Notable tannins, higher acidity and more oaks. Not as balance as previous bottles, time to wait for another few years before opening the rest of the case.

  • Very similar to previous notes. It's never about how tasty the wine is but about how to keep my hands from a case opened a year back. May not be anything left by the time it's mature.

  • Floral nose. Sweet and smooth tannins, almost weightless. Notes of rose petals, violets, wet earth, and spicy stems. Medium bodied with great balance. Delicious stuff just lack depth of great Grand Cru, or would have been above 95 pts. If this is supposed to be an off vintage, I am happy to drink this every day. Magic of 80 years old vines. Can 07' Cathiard Malconsorts be much better than this? Maybe Allen Meadows is correct in saying this in his 07' Cathiard Malconsorts note: "As good as this is, it's not presently clear if it holds its usual superiority over the Murgers in 2007". Such a big fan of this wine that I ended up buying the 02', 05', 06', 07', and 10' vintages. Should I pick up 09' and 12' too? 92-94 pts.

  • Good nose, floral and intense. Right after uncorked, shows slightly more red fruits with dry mid-palate. As it sits in the glass throughout the 2 hrs lunch, continue to add weight and complexity with black fruits emerging. Notes of red, black fruits, violet, spicy stem and toasty oak. Long and delicious for a 07' 1er Cru. Yum!

  • Beautiful nose. Floral and intense, sweet tone. Notes of spice, violet, blackberry, and toasty oak. Good mixture of black and red fruits. Sweet and and smooth on entry, open and delicious. Slightly dry mid-palate and touch of warmth at finish. Good balance overall. Pretty wine, this is more about finasse than power, but sneaky long. This ought to be one of the best Murgers. Picked up a case at bargain price a few months back. Looks like price have gone north quite a bit since Burgs drinkers start to realize a lot of 07' Red Burgs are much better than initial assessment during EP and most of them are selling at relatively good prices. 92-94 pts.

  • Rich red colour, nice lustre.
Dark notes, black cherry, dusty oak, deep fragrant florals.
Silky, red cherries and blood plum, gentle cherry stone sourness, ok balance, oak spice a shade too strong, smooth crisp finish. Flavours a bit on the blunt side.

  • Good nose. Floral and expressive. More Vosne than Nuits. Slightly more red fruits than black fruits. Notes of wet earth, red cherry with hints of toasty oaks at finish. Decent length and structure for a 2007 Burgundy. 13.5% alcohol level with slight heat at finish. Approachable and enjoyable now. Maintains good balance on 2nd day, tasty. No hint of alcohol. 90-93 pts.

  • Alongside the 2006. This suffered only by comparison. Not quite as elegant and pure, this seems to have been pushed a bit more. Slightly riper with some new oak showing through.

  • Knightsbridge Holiday Burgundy Sale (Northbrook, IL): Floral notes and spice dominate the nose, showing beautiful pure fruit as well as some new oak elements. Red and black cherry with good spice on palate, moderately long, quite elegant. Both this and the Mugneret-Gibourg NSG Chaignots showed well for 2007 NSGs today, a place which I've generally avoided in the vintage because of lots of lean, under ripe fruit.

  • Tasted at the Domaine with Sylvain. Murgers are what the french call the stones that line the sides of certain vineyards. Good grip, nice tannins, closed nose. Will be very fine.
