In a great place right now. Red fruited, very expressive 30 min after opening, it’s fully open and juicy. Hay smoked and skin-side binchotan seared Katsuo and aburi kama-toro at Sushi Noz 12/15 were taken to the next level, washed down with this gibourg ech.

Ethereal. Mugneret-Gibourg's 2007 Echezeaux unfurls from the glass with a beautiful nose of wild strawberry, Vosne spice, and sous bois. Regal, elegantly textured palate with sweet red fruit and bright acidity. So little sense of weight, the fruit just floats on your palate and you can barely differentiate between the wine and post finish. Excellent.

Strawberry, spice, and underbrush. Palate is expressive and feminine with alluring sweetness. If has wonderful stuffing and persistence. The 07 Mugneret Gibourg is consistently excellent. It will drink well for many years to come. 93-94

1/6, good cork. Pale/medium ruby/garnet core, wide pale garnet rim. Lovely aromatic nose, quite dark fruited with floral notes and a hint of spice. Medium bodied, pure dark fruit, very fine tannins, quite youthful with fresh acidity and a very good length finish. Excellent.

Ruby. Initially a whiff of animale that had me worried about Brett but with time the 2007 Echezeaux developed perfumed aromas of ripe strawberry, white pepper, and sous bois. Elegant, a wine of finesse, with soft, silky tannins and fresh acidity. Persistent finish. Killer today but with the stuffing to drink well through 2030+.

Served this to a friend who is a serious Burgundy collector, and asked him to guess the vintage. He was adamant it tasted like ‘09. If I hadn’t known what it was I probably would have gone there too. This is a ripe ‘07, very well balanced with soft tannin and sweet fruit.
The aromatics are special, rose petals and Vosne spice, pure and deep. A wine to contemplate and enjoy now, and I would imagine for at least the next 5 years in this lovely phase.
Bravo Mugneret-Gibourg, I can’t recall a better performance in this vintage.

Still young. Very sexy on the nose with strawberry, intense spice, herbs, a bowl of mineral-infused blue and dark fruit. Palate was rich and powerful with lots of spicy red berries but it slowly oozed its elegance and transperency in the glass. Will be very difficult to call this an 07 if it was served blind. Gibourg nailed this vintage.

Served blind. Sexy sexy aroma. Wow. Served toward end of the tasting wish I had more time, but certainly this is one of the better 07's I've had and is drinking very well now.

John Gilman and rocknroller wrote excellent reviews of this wine that really capture how good it is right now. The wine is still youthful, showing power, intensity and complexity, gorgeous minerality and red fruits. This is delicious right now, no reason to wait!

Same btl as R&Rler. I likely made a cardinal mistake by reusing my white Burg Montrachet style glass for this and didn't give it the best chance to shine. For me, it drank youngish with velvety elegance, richness, balance and full of promise. Its youthfully excellent but didn't turn my head, at this point. I should have had it in a true red burg glass. A very very nice btl amongst several rock stars tonight. Wish I owned some myself to drink again in a few years. 93+

A Quite Remarkable Night (Spoon & Stable, Mpls, MN): Medium dark red color. PNP, drank 1 glass over an hour plus. Holy testicles Batman, this thing is rocking. Whether it is the combination of 2007's drinking sublimely right now, Echezeaux itself, or the Mugneret-Gibourg sisters working their magic, this was spectacular. Wow from the start, florals, bright, deep and intense on the nose and palate, pretty red fruits, red cherry, impeccably balanced and elegant, featherweight but with that impressive energy and concentration; impressive length and lovely tannins. Ready for prime time and will probably go for 20 years plus.

During a Confrerie 2007 BYO tasting dinner, so just short impressions. No surprise on the overall vintage performance, the 2007 are mostly light and harmless compared to better vintages. TN: Nose of red fruit with spices, deeply floral, was the favorite red wine for many. soft palate. Very good performance for the vintage.

My first GC Mugneret-Gibourg, a domaine that has never disappointed so far. The sisters seem to know what they are doing. Very smooth and nice complexity. Drinking very well now as a youngster. 93+
