3/6, vg cork. Pale/medium garnet, wide pale rim. Touch of mahogany. Nose is quietly aromatic, gently autumnal with undergrowth and mushroom, also still with underlying red fruit. Touch of liquorice, medicinal edge. Medium bodied, tannins are quite fine and this is relatively elegant with attractive lightly spicy red cherry fruit, gently savoury yet with a core of sweetness, decent depth, fresh/vibrant acidity on the medium/good length finish. Very tasty, drinking well.

Needs 30-45 minutes of air but drinking very well right now. Simple, enjoyable Gevrey that is showing balanced, ripe fruit and some nice game. Drink now. A-

Very much acidity on the nose initially. Palate is watery and a bit thin. But this seems to be the case with good burghs opened too soon. I will expect it to open up during the course of the evening. Glass number two and three shows slight improvement. More of a gentle and calm acidity and slightly more power on the palate. Towards the end of the evening, several hours after opening, it finally blossoms with power worthy of a good '07 burgh. Nothing like a good '09 or '05, but as good at this vintage gets. Have had my share of 2007 premier crus with less complexity and interest than this wine. Turns out nicely balanced and very good in the end.

Medium garnet core, pale garnet rim. Nose is a touch reticent if quite rich and shows spicy, slight autumnal red berry fruit, a touch of bilberry, liquorice notes. Medium/full bodied, red fruit, earth, touch of forest floor, perceptible firm if fine tannins which are still reining this in a touch, balanced acids, good length slightly firm finish with notes of liquorice. Needs a bit more time, next bottle 2-3 years.

It's a tightly wound spring. There is a thrilling tension and a sense of supressed power waiting to be released. And it just oozes an underlying quality. It already offers rewards if you can taste your way past the agressive and severe adolescent attitude, but otherwise give it time. Maybe a decade. dg

Nice and sympathetic wine. A bit acidic, though. More concentration and depth than the "Pince Vin 2008" tasted next to it. A good effort, but not as stellar as last time I tasted it. This time it was tasted alongside some very good burghs, and did not keep up with them (Denis Mortet villages).

Lovely village. Ruby/velvet color. Nose offers up dark small red fruits, spice, meat and leather. Lovely soft ripe fruit with nice balance of tannin and mineral acidity. Drinking very well now but may well develop further more mature flavors and keep well.

light ruby/red color with purple meniscus. Nose offers up coffee, spice, meat. Sweet ripe small red fruits with lovely mineral acidity and soft tannins on palate. Longish finish. VG 07.

Another Saturday at Knightsbridge - mostly blind (Northbrook, IL): Decanted two hours. Accidentally opened when I meant to open the Chambertin Clos de Beze for a blind tasting. Moderately ripe fruit, clearly young but accessible. More meaty and fruit density than spice, this demonstrated Gevrey-Chambertin very well. Great texture from beginning to end, with a very evolving finish. Really well done for the level and the vintage.

La Paulee Gala (New York, NY): Ripe black fruit with a gamy character. Modest spice, modest intensity. Drinking very well now, I think this has some upside in the next few years.

A very full-bodied and smooth village. Fantastic effort. Gentle fruity nose, and the palate shows spices and power. Really liked this one.
