Golden yellow in color. Cork dried ouy which broke in two with remnants in the bottle. Chalk on the nose. Nice palate of minerals and nuts with a hint of lemon. An ok easy drinker.

Last bottle of 3. Has developed a lot of complexity, still with underlying notes of citrus and stones. Relaxed and smooth, pleasant. Still, I prefer to drink this young.

Very developed towards the nutty yeasty side of this wine. Not OTH but definitely fully developed and was a very nice contrast with the other lunch Chablis. Last Bottle.

Adequate. Lightly bodied, acid driven, yet nicely balanced, medium finish. The wine was good, but not great, with fish. I like the style of the wines; the thing this lacks is complexity and minerality.

It has been rewarding to drink this case over the years. We' ve open a bottle of this wine and most deffinetly it have reached it' s perfection. The wine shows a very clear aspect with gold colour and medium intensity. A clean nose, medium intensity with aromas of passion fruit, pinneaple and evoluting to some white peach. On the palate medium + acidity with a very austere body that seems to have integrated since last bottle in 2011. Very mineral, precise flavours with pinneaple, citric fruits and a huge character of minerality.

A subtle, delicate nose with floral, funky herbal (not at all unlike Campari), and fruit pit. Light to medium-bodied with slightly souring acidity, cherry, and vermouth-like herbal notes. Finishes a little short and falls out on the mid-palate.
A refreshing, albeit somewhat flabby wine. Then again, it is a 5 year old white.

Medium yellow. In the nose very Aligoté typical with clear exotic fruit (pineapple, Maracuja, Lemon) and some ginger. Light, but very nicely balanced and elegant. On the palate fairly full, fresh, well structured with lemony acidity and again lots of pineapple that drives the finish. Very, very good.

An incredible bottle of Aligote. Drinking great! Color - golden straw. Nose -classic peach pit. Palate - classic elegance like a fine burgundy but where you would put minerality, put fresh dry peach pit. One of the best whites I've had this summer. (price unknown)

Needs some air after opening - once the sour-milk flavours disappeared the wine revealed nice white fruits flavours. Good acidity helps to keep this wines extremely refreshing. Of course aligote is not a chardonnay but in blind testing one could be surprised...

Wines of Burgundy (Farpointe Cellar): A nice stony nose, with good citrus and apple flavors. There was a slight creamy spice on the tail end. It had great acidity, and a nice crispness to the fruit. There was some lemon and pear, a little melon, and the finish had a massive amount of crushed rock.

Saturdays at One - Volume 38: Tasted non blind. Opened and served immediately. Light yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of peach, grapefuit, lychee and sea foam. Flavors of peach, grapefruit and a hint of kiwi on the slightly clipped finish. Medium to bright acidity, lighter body style. Drink over the next few years. 89.

2007 Bourgogne Aligote Blind Tasting: showed white flowers and a bit of honey, well balanced and well made, although everyone thought that it was a bit inconsequential, simple. It was better over dinner, but still not a wine to race to the stores for.

Pale straw with a green hue. Fresh, zesty nose of citrus and flowers. Crisp and clear on the palate with flavors of citrus/lime and a subtle minerality. Pure, refined and a light body - the kind of wine that works as an aperitif on a warm spring evening on the patio. I like this for its purity and freshness but is it worth the $25 I paid at Zachys? Not sure.

100% Aligoté. A little complexity and overall crispness on the nose with slightly fleshy and prickly notes throughout. Acidic and a little thin in the mouth displaying a crisp texture and slightly bitter notes of peach and apricot. The finish is short.

Very light in flavor, some lime, wet stone, minerals but misses a lot of scent to be great. Light bodied palate, citrusy, grassy and mineral. But not my kind. Will forget it probaly quickly, very ordinary.

2nd bottle tried. This time at home as aperitif before food. Enjoyed it much more than first bottle. Interesting color. At first, pale yellow, moving to colorless after half hour or so. Nice combination of lemon and minerality on nose and palate. A nice wine.

Had as part of a tasting menu at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. This was served with a flaky white fish in a seafood broth (mussels and shrimp). Clean crisp white burgandy. Straw is probably a good description on the color, but was much lighter. Nice flint and mineral edge to the initial taste, with a clean finish. Not a huge white burgandy fan, but this paired nicely with the meal. The broth had a thicker almost cream base to it, more than a stock base to it, so the acidity of this wine help to cut through the heavier sauce well.

I have to re-submit a note of the 07 de Villaine Bouzeron. I was not so sure my first bott was truly representative and opened another bottle tonight. This has an enticing aroma and flavour of stone fruits, lemons and custard apple and showed a lot more richness with a lovely sappy/waxy texture. This is super Aligote and is every bit as good as the 06 version. I think the hay notes I picked up in my first bott was in fact a Hessian character of low level tca.

Medium yellow. No nose to speak of. Some lemon and a hint of minerality on the palate. A good aperitif wine, but did not stand up to crab cocotte appetizer. Maybe a little more time and it will develop some depth of flavor. Much better on 2nd day. More minerality and earthiness. Would elevate to 86-87

Extremely youthful and palest straw with greenish glow. The nose is quite closed, hints of white flowers and flint but not a lot of fresh fruit coming off the glass at this point, more of a subtle citrus peel note. On the palate, the wine is steely, taut, mineral and downright tart. It went well with some relatively strong hard cheeses, German ham and such. However, given its current state and my experience with the deVillaine aligote over the past couple of decades, I'd say the 2007 is a wine to leave alone for another year or two before broaching again. Plenty of potential there, but really not meant for drinking this young.

i've had this wine several times in several vintages, and this is the first time that I really like it. it shows a smoky and earthy character on the nose, along with the bright citrus fruit. The palate is ripe but there is great acidity and tension, and the earthy character follows through on the finish. Really a lovely wine that would work beautifully with shellfish, although we enjoyed it with a ripe washed rind cheese too.

Lemony, green apple nose. Quite fruit forward in the mouth, with lots of green apple, lemon wedge and slightly herbaceous, lemongrass flavors. Good intensity and concentration, but there's a sedate, sauvignon blanc like personality here that lacks charm compared to the curious complexity and saline minerality of the 2006. Fortunately it's better on day 2, after the fruit has subsided a bit; how odd to say that about an aligoté. A pleasantly salty streak has emerged, and there's a tactile midpalate swell of concentration amidst intense lemon rind-like acid; this increasingly reminds me of Pepiere Briords. Try again in 6 months.
