Drinking any bottle of wine by Armand Rousseau is one of life’s great pleasures. Faced with a light and bang average vintage in the shape of 2007, Mr Rousseau has teased majesty out of meagre coins. The nose was enthralling - red berries, raspberry coulis, violet flakes and the limpid note of undergrowth and wet beagle. The palate was silky, mellifluous like a sonorous bell. The finish was long, precise, persistency with great panache. In short the wine was celestial. Does anyone in the world produce greater wines than the noble address of Armand Rousseau? Personally I think not.

Drank side-by-side with 08' Mugnier Amoureuses, which was the clear winner by a mile, but this Rousseau was very good. Much darker and richer than the Mugnier, with very pretty aromatics. Juicy and expressive.

Beautiful wine. Aromatically irresistible. Elegant, relaxed, on the palate. Do not see upside from here. Not for those seeking body, weight, and power.

Rousseau 2007 Dinner (RPM Steak - Chicago IL): Served single+ blind in flight. Black fruit, meaty notes, good concentration but moderate finesse. Good+ now with upside from here, but frankly not worth Rousseau market prices.

Good aroma and good taste straight from opening the bottle. I gave it two hours' decant, but I didn't notice any significant improvement or change for doing the decant (and there was almost no sediment). Some wine was left for the next day - and again I didn't notice any further improvement (or deterioration). Light body, good balance, enjoyable, not a complex or intense wine. Good drinking with food. I rate this as being top-end of 'Good' rather than 'Very Good', hence my score of 85 which looks mean against the others here, but is not intended to be. This is good wine. This was the last of my bottles of this vintage.

Delicate and sweet in the mouth with polished tannins, soft acidity and great balance. Not very weighty or rich but highly appealing, and easy to drink.

my only bottle from this vineyard side of Rousseau from this year, so opened the bottle in the afternoon to improve with air, quite closed aromas in the beginning, opens up slowly after two+ hours, flowered, herbs, on the palate tart red fruit, still a little grainy tannin, flowers again, young but complex, midweight body, long finish, for me this wine needs a lot more time in the cellar (5+ years ?) quite a challenge to find the right date for opening a Rousseau, the exact aeration time......., 86- 89+?, and again I have to amend my TN from yesterday......., the one third rest of this bottle today is stunning, all components are well structured now, really balanced, an almost sweet delicious fruit, Provencal herbs, makes me dream of holidays in the south, long finish, in this today condition this bottle is outstanding, 89- 92+?

Explosive aromas of red raspberry, minerals/ore. Richer than expected, but tight - on the palate. Opens up quite a bit with extended aeration. Wait 5 years to open or give it several hours of decanting.

an extremely pretty, highly perfumed wine. There’s a jube like quality to the sweet cherry fruits (a la 2000) and it possesses an ethereal floral smell. It appears relatively simple, generous and plump with soft acidity but cuddling up to it over an hour or two there are some complex savoury/earthy, mossy traits that come to the fore and there’s a little underlying muscle from the tannins.

I somehow managed to make this bottle last for two days. On the first, like most young wines, I was slightly regretting opening it. The aromatics made me smile, the palate gave a glimpse into the characteristic Rousseau weightlessness they seem to achieve with every bottle, but given this stage in its life wasn't a complete package yet. Day two was a different story, the wine lost a bit of its precociousness and fleshed out, losing the tannic bite of youth (which was never that bad to begin with) and showing pretty darned polished. If this is what 07s from great producers is like, sign me up please.

Another wonderfully drinking 07 bottling. Not massive in composition (more silky), just pleasurable and joyfull drinking. Great nose and great taste of red berries and spice, pebber at the tip of the tonque. No reason not to enjoy this vintage from an early age./steen p

Another fine bottle. Coming off all those Leroys this was simple by comparison.

Fresh, forward and vibrant nose of dark fruit, minerals, a bit of red fruit and spice. Outstanding grip. Loving 2007 Rousseau's.

Rousseau masterclass 2007 (Pinot workshop): A more taught tight example perhaps a bit leaner than the cazetiers certainly more structured. Pretty good though.

Beautifully floral, rasberry nose - elegant even. Clear bitter chocolate and cherry nose, fresh fruit. Fine boned tannins
