  • These are now starting to get VERY interesting! Too bad this is my last bottle of a case bought in 2009...well...it was suppose to be a case of BB for $17 per, and received the Aligote by mistake. Decided to keep it, and ending up getting two more cases of the BB cuz that sucker was GOOOD...and wasn't really thrilled with the Aligote at the time...an acid freak, and just an ok drink. Last bottle had was 7 years ago(are you friggin serious??) and saw some leakage starting on this bottle so decided to kill it. WOW...this has really blossomed into a fun wine! Fresh as a daisy with tart lemon citrus and pineapple acidity...chalky saline minerality, slight petrol...very clean and fresh snappy orchard fruit. What gets me is, as I've noted before, this wine totally tastes like a still Champagne! Has that bright high acid fruit...then a lees brioche-ness to it...ginger spice, caramel apple stick, chalky limestone. There's a slight exotic nuance to it of lychee and almond liqueur which reminds me of the 13 Ultramarine BdB. Finishes creamy smooth and refreshing with some white flower florals and citrus pucker. LOVE this! Who knew...wish I had more.

  • Second to last bottle of a case on release.....still pretty bright and fresh, with a little petrol-ish funk to it? Still reminds me of a bubble-less Champagne....tart lemon, apple, melon....some chalky limestone, brioche, vanilla meringue, raw peanut, green apple skin. Really high toned acidic fruit, but still has some cream. Leave open a Schramsberg BdB for a week, less fruit, more minerals....this wine!

  • Like a Champagne with no bubbles.

  • 2007 Bourgogne Aligote Blind Tasting: it dropped off like a hot potato during our dinner. But during the tasting I liked its lean and stony profile and its pungent lemon scent. It was clean and acidic and very long, and I was certain that it was the next wine. The others thought it was too creamy, too correct, with some artifice. Joe found the finish to be short - it grinds to a halt, he said.

  • More sharp and soapy in this bottle.

  • Creamy and very tart. Granny Smith apple and lime. A touch of very mild vanilla and mint. Skinned almonds. Some floral elements and mineral, lots of mineral. Brilliant clear yellow/green.

  • Opened too young. Lovely palate with green apple acidity and impressive depth and viscosity, but the nose is completely introverted and the wine is more about structure and acids right now than anything else. It would be fun to check back in 2 years from now. But i won't do that because this is Aligote, and my cellar can only make room for so many things. Aligote, not matter how much fun, Roulot or not, just isn't one of them.

  • Very pale white gold in color. Citrus nose of lemon, melon, grapefruit, stones, white flowers. Refreshingly light in the mouth...definitely lemons and stones, slightly creamed with some melon and vanilla meringue, toast, slight raw nuts, flat ginger ale. Not as sharply cut as I would like......can really tell the "Cremant" without the bubbles. No signs of "Roulot" in this wine, except maybe the lemon sour, which I really thought I'd see. Simple, refreshing White Burg....a good everydayer at the right price. Although doesn't satisfy a "cheap Roulot" craving like the Bourgogne Blanc does.

  • With Chris and Zank. Soft, peachy notes. I prefer more cut and acidity. Not so much an argument against this wine in particular, more so my trouble with the varietal, but this wine doesn't do much to transcend that general opinion.
