Typical Sycamore, medium red color, medium bodied Bordeaux style. Some floral notes on the nose. Black cherry, raspberry and strawberry on the palate. Drinking exceptionally well given the rather modestly rated 2000 vintage. Drank side by side with a 2000 Freemark Bosche. Still lots of fruit and balance. Drank with Beth, Matt, Molly, Bob and Sherry at Art Smith's Table 52 restaurant in Chicago

Nice, relatively smooth Cab. Decanted but started drinking right away. It did open up more as the night went on. Overall nice, but nothing spectacular. Not sure it was worth the $40 I paid way back when.

Corks: California (Rossford, OH): Greenish nose. Smooth, easy-drinking. Medium- structure, medium body. Slightly green, but not at all dilute. Solid wine for the vintage.

Very solid...one of the first cabs I laid down when I began collecting two years ago...PA bought this up in droves and I got a great price in the $20 range and it's drinking like a mature, solid cab...not a huge one but very stable fruit...nice wine on a Tue night with pork loin.

Drank in comparison to the 2000 Bosche; Sycamore was more delicate, subtle; nice dark plum flavors; little tannin; I preferred the structure of the Bosche, but enjoyed the wine.

2007 Passport to Woodinville weekend; 3/31/2007-4/1/2007 (Woodinville, WA): Nose of currants and earth. Earthy, almost smokey, with currant and some bing cherry like flavors. This bottle went really fast in our group. Tasted right after an Opus One Overture, and this wine had more substance, but less fruit than the Overture did.

The barnyard, vegetal nose indicated that this was not a fruit bomb, and the palate proved the nose right. Well balanced, and very smooth mouth-feel,old-worldfruit, perhaps St. Estephe, and a true pleasure to consume.

Note after 48 hours. Upon initially opening, lots of vegetables and olives on the palate. Even more so than the Bosche. Over two days it held up a bit better than the Bosche, but on the first night I preferred the Bosche. Again a decent deal given the PA discount but way over-priced at the initial release.

Rich, plush dark fruit, just a touch overripe tasting, reminiscent of a port.

Held this quite a while and was not disappointed. Still a solid cab, drinking well. May have a bit more life yet, but drinks well right now.

Red fruits on both nose and palate. Developed, tertiary notes. No hard or sharp edges. Not terribly complex, but quite attractive.

What a treat...drinking great with full bodied fruit and fairly long finish...drank without decanting.

Drank before & during dinner (beef, onions, gravy over rice). Tasted "thin" to both of us. Didn't do much for us. Will not buy again.
