Pnp. Still showing well and consistent with note 12 months ago. Not the most complex Brunello you can find but everything is in great balance. For drinking now and over the mid term. 91-92

Pnp after a 85 Poggio al Vento turned out oxidized. This is the single vineyard Brunello from Caparzo in a good 4 star Brunello vintage. Healthy garnet color without noticeable bricking. An aromatic and soft wine with plenty of herbs and flowers combined with dark fruit. A feminine style, if one can ever describe Brunello as feminine. With more air some tannins appear but the wine remains rather smooth. Medium finish. Very good and nice surprise as my experience with mature Brunello is a bit hit and miss.

This is not an impressive wine for the La Casa standards. Pretty mute nose, lacks the punch on the palate, it is just very good minus, not exciting as I expect from this wine. Will it evolve? I doubt it. 88.

BBQ at the GrillMaster's (Fernando's): Wine of the day for me, close call with Erasmus but in the end - this won. Powerfull wine that surelly need a lot more time to settle down. amazing depth of cherry and other black fruit - yet this wine is not "fruity" in any sence, rather its a strong masculine wine with amazing acidity and a lovely long dry finish. YUMM!!

i usually do not allow much breathing time for a wine which is at or near maturity. something made me feel that this wine would require an exception to the rule. allowed to breathe 45 minutes before serving. although the wine is made in a very smooth style, i do not believe that it is anywhere near mature. 4 hours after opening, the bouquet was still evolving, with many complex aromas prsenting in rotation. there are plenty of berries but i also taste brown licorice. every now and then, a blast of tannin erupts although not with any great heat. i do not find the long finish that is mentioned by suckling. as an example of new style brunello, i am wondering whether the price point can be maintained. for study purposes, will put one more away to see what it looks like in two years.

Drank after 1 hour decant. Smooth drinking wine, incredible flavours. The bouquet is not strong or overpowering. Wish we had more.

i should have let this open longer before serving. It did open and went nicely with fettucine alfredo and sweet italian sausage

Very smooth, with a light finish after a lush fruit beginning. Decanted for 2 hours and served with pork chops with cream sauce - perfect together

This seemed closed to me. Very dark in color. Have one more bottle - wait a year.
