Medium-bodied, fresh, bright, developed, classic styled wine with cedar, tobacco and earthy notes on top of the red currants and red plums. The wine is correct, but not exciting.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like peach, oak and tobacco. It tastes like oak, almond, blackberry and tobacco. The body is full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity.

A good wine - not so dominant Margaux as expected. Do not buy again. Was definetely better than a 7Euro Haut Medoc that was tasted too, but not for 4 times the price.

Black Lion Wine Club - 2000, 2005, 2008 Margaux Tasting (The Black Lion): Appearance: Clear, medium intensity, ruby core with no change at the rim Nose: Clean, medium intensity, dark fruit, pepper, cedar, developing Palate: Dry, medium(+) acidity, soft, fine, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium body and intensity, dark fruits, cedar, herbs, medium finish Conclusions: Good wine but ideally needs more time; can drink now but suitable for further ageing. This definitely improved over the course of the evening, coming together more and developing greater depth

In this glass this was a dark and deep red with slow legs, and a nose with a lot of wood. To taste, this was medium to full bodied, had soft tannins and slight acidity.
After 8 days holding up remarkably well. Developed some butterscotch/caramel smells and taste.
A good wine, at a good price.

Dark ruby hue, bright and elegant. Red currant, blue berry jam, blackberry and sour cherry aromas, surrounded by cedar, pencil shavings, chalk, brussels sprouts, mung bean and orange peel with a nutty overtone. Well-balanced nose with acidity slightly on the high side. Medium body. A little weak on the attack with some cassis, cherry, blue berry and plum, leading to a very well-rounded mid-palate with smooth velvety tannins with high acidity and a medium weight. Long finish, highly acidic, finishing with sour cherry, plum, blueberry and floral note interspersed with some cedar and almond note. This is a pretty wine, yet, still very young and a little disjointed/off-balance. I do see this wine crossing into the 90-point zone in a couple of years.

Bordeaux 2008 (Bordeaux): There is something rather anonymous about this wine. While not bad, and certainly fresh, it lacks depth and nuance. 85-88
