Medium-bodied, fresh, bright, developed, classic styled wine with cedar, tobacco and earthy notes on top of the red currants and red plums. The wine is correct, but not exciting.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like peach, oak and tobacco. It tastes like oak, almond, blackberry and tobacco. The body is full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity.

A good wine - not so dominant Margaux as expected. Do not buy again. Was definetely better than a 7Euro Haut Medoc that was tasted too, but not for 4 times the price.

Black Lion Wine Club - 2000, 2005, 2008 Margaux Tasting (The Black Lion): Appearance: Clear, medium intensity, ruby core with no change at the rim Nose: Clean, medium intensity, dark fruit, pepper, cedar, developing Palate: Dry, medium(+) acidity, soft, fine, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium body and intensity, dark fruits, cedar, herbs, medium finish Conclusions: Good wine but ideally needs more time; can drink now but suitable for further ageing. This definitely improved over the course of the evening, coming together more and developing greater depth
