Deep Garnet with medium intensity developed aromas of plum, violet, wet wood, asian spice Nutmeg, tobacco, raspberry, and thyme. This wine has medium body and tannins with high alcohol and medium acidity. This wine has medium plus intensity flavors and a medium plus finish. This wine has flavors of plum, raspberry, wood, tobacco, nutmeg, in forest floor. This is a very good wine which I think is at its peak so drink within the next year or two max.
This wine truly exceeded my expectations. for an hour, and found that the aromas and palate were consistent, balanced, and complex. The fruit, secondary, and tertiary flavors are in excellent Balance. Predominant flavors include plum, wood, nutmeg, and tobacco.

Fruit Day - Decanted off about a teaspoon of grainy sediment. Still ruby/garnet in the glass. Nose is herbs, red and blue fruit (both fresh and dried), dark chocolate with some heat from the alcohol (14.5% stated). Developed but with lots of fresh fruit as well. On the palate the tannins are not quite resolved yet but are soft enough (and there’s enough fruit left) to keep it well balanced. Served with a lamb curry and it works well - flavourful enough to stand up to the powerful flavour of the dish yet is soft enough and the tannins are resolved enough that they don’t create more heat in the dish. Could easily develop for another 3 or so years with no detriment in quality. Well done!

Quite nice carmenere; more fleshy fruit than tobacco and cherry but smooth on the start and finish. Had with steak/potatoes and was very nice compliment. Also very good with the chocolate dessert! Solid choice for a Fall dinner not wanting a typical Cab Sav. Enjoy.

A fantastic ''value for money'' wine from top 2007 vintage. Dark as night with expressive plummy, choco & coffee like nose together with soya & cola notes. Broad and thick on palate with low aciditity, frim/coarse grained tannins that balance full body and generous alcohol. Long. Ready having potential to keep for another 4-5 years. Amazing value

Still young, decanted for 2 hours. Black currant, black cherry, black raspberry with a little herbs on the nose. Tastes include the black fruits, supple tannins, finishing with black cherry, black current, and some oak, with a nice long finish.

Pop and poured. Very dark purple, almost black. Wonderful nose with petrol, tobacco and plum notes. Blackberries and plum, hints of vanilla. Moderately tannic and probably needs some decanting time. Good value.

Good wine! Never expected to find strong fruit flavor in a Carmenere but this one has it! There's also that smoky flavor and bitter chocolatey aftertaste. Nice!

PnP. Very deep garnet/purple, with glass-staining legs. Rich, loamy, earth meets black fruits and fragrant floral notes in the bouquet, which gives way to chunks of juicy, ripe fruit on the palate. Sour cherry, blackberry, and cranberry are the dominant flavors, but more than a hint of vegetal green pepper and ample oak tend to overshadow it. Medium-full-bodied, semi-lengthy finish, acid & tannins are well-balanced with decent structure. For under $20 this is a solid wine, but not earth-shattering.

Seems to be great variability in this one as it does not match my previous bottle from last fall. Very little fruit just some plums but after the wood and earth notes, some tobacco and cedar. Only a medium body and not much finish. Tannins were moderate but no integrating with the fading fruit. Maybe getting past it's prime or needs a lot longer to get past a mid-life crisis?

For $17 this is a steal. A great bold carmenere with layers of flavor. good deep red fruits then bold black pepper spice and smooth tannins...well-balanced...definitely buying more.

Earth, black pepper, and dark, ripe fruit in the nose. On first taste, wine is "hot" and a bit thin. Decanted for 30 minutes and the wine really opened up. Like biting into a fruit salad of blackberries, raspberries, plums and black cherries. Very strong fruit with hints of vanilla. There is a strong oak hit which is not necessary, but I did not find overpowering.

Solid. Fruit not as big or red as I remember but went nicely with some leftover red sauce and sausage. There is oak but not too bad IF you decant. It really helps this wine. Tobacco and cut wood on the nose.

This wine was OK but not to my taste. The overwhelming flavor was oak -- very new worldish. Oak, fruit, and minimal tanin. I had half the bottle on night one, the wine was then kept under vacuum and finished on the second night. The second night the oak was less pronounced and the flavor profile was better balanced, but overall this is not a wine I would buy again.

No obtrusive oak with my bottle. On the nose, cassis, tobacco, some bell pepper and spice. In the mouth, powdery tannins and some structure. This will last a while in the bottle, but very tasty now for those not sensitive to tannin. Great qpr. Should be best in 3-5 years.

3/24/10-had it with Judy. Flank steak, roasted red onions/mushrooms, polenta
wow the colore was very deep purple, and brilliant like a jewel. Aromatic nose of black cherries, blackberries, spice and cedar. On the palate, you noticed the fruits right away, a little dusty, almost bittersweet chocolate finish. The balance was good, nice acidity with tannins. Good mouthfee, good balancel. finish is excellent. Would def get again for this price.

Deep purple again. Smoky, burnt, woody nose with coffee, vanilla, and a big dollop of rich fruit. In the mouth extracted, spicy, oak, dry, chocolate/vanilla, burnt cherry. Good structure, engaging and fun to drink but a touch of the acrid burnt herb thing and a healthy dose of oak keeps me from loving this wine.

Great qpr on this camenere! Dark fruit and spices combine with vanilla notes and ripe tannins to make this a memorable wine, especially for the price. This went perfectly with roast pork loin and was quite enjoyable on its own.

A no-brainer for the price, this Carmenere is one of the most beautifully colored wines I have seen: a lake of dark, opaque purple with fuchsia edges of brilliant clarity that almost seem to glow in the light. The senses are enticed by a nose of copious plum, cassis, a hint of toasted oak and petrol, and a faint heat. In the mouth, dark, concentrated red fruits, supported by formidable though graceful tannins, are slow to fade, revealing an additional, lingering layer of charred oak, creosote, and beef blood. Definitely a food wine, pair with a grilled loin of venison and roasted mission figs.
Drink now or over the next 6-8 years. 90 – JRS

Inky deep crimson. Tight nose. Thick staining legs. Medium plus body, soft fine tannin, round. Powdered sour cherry candy chased with dark chocolate. Medium length finish. Amiable character leaves me wishing for more aromatics.
