Drank this during a wine dinner at Phoenix Garden (Ngee Ann City). Theme of the Evening: Langton's Exceptional Cabernet Dinner. Wines were served two at a time for comparison and contrast.
One of the flagship wines from the Wynns Coonawarra Estate. Only made in good years, this wine presented a lovely eucalyptus, blackcurrant, tobacco, mint and cedar. When compared to the 2006 Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine presents more complexity and dimensions.

Still a 94. Two years since the last bottle this is still developing. Now into a secondary stage but still with a youthful swing in her hips. Delicious from the moment the first sip crosses your lips Blackberries, cedar and a touch of spice on the bouquet following through to the palate with a light dash of eucalypt. Luscious body with lingering length. In an optimum point in the drinking window but will easily cellar (with care) for another 5 plus years

Quite incredible, still solid in colour, mint, cedar, some aniseed and berry nose - massive cassis fuit followed by wonderful gritty tannins giving an incredibly long finish - still full of power and structure and wish I had waited another 10 years

Deep colour, barely showing any age. Powerful fruit - blackberry, blueberry, light mint/eucalypt and a hint of chopped tobacco. A fine line of acid. Good mouth feel with a lingering finish. The tannins are smooth. This had a three hour decant/breath (2:00pm-5:00pm) then back in the bottle and was opened and consumed over three hours (7:30pm-10:30pm). It continued to open up in the bottle/glass right up to the last drop. I expect this to cellar for another decade. 94.

Deep colour, just starting to show some age. Concentrated, powerful fruit - blackberry, blueberry, mint, tobacco. The acidity sits nicely behind this all the way through to a long, lingering finish. The tannins are firm but fine.

Fresh berry aromas along with cedar and tobacco. It is generous and full with dense briary fruit and quality supportive oak. There's just a hint of earthy development sneaking in and the finish is carried by fine grained tannins.

Gave this a good decant before drinking. Powerful wine, purple with masses of dark fruits, cassis and finishing with big grippy tannins. Needs a fair bit of time.

Drinking beautifully right now. Totally integrated and balanced. Has another 5 to 10 years ahead
