Appearance: Bright and clear, it has medium ruby color, with slight garnet rims and legs. Nose: Clean, with medium (-) intensity aromas of black fruit such as blackberry and plum, oak notes of cedar, dried fruit of prune, sweet spice of clove, kernel notes of mocha, maturity notes of tobacco. The wine is developing. Palate: Dry with medium acidity, medium tannin of ripe and a bit grippy on texture, with medium alcohol and medium body, with medium intensity flavors of black fruit such as blackberry and plum, oak notes of cedar, kernel notes of chocolate, sweet spice of clove. The wine has a medium finish. Conclusion: Good quality St-Emilion with the typical regional characters, though the nose is less intense than I would expect, but still with good complexity. The wine has good structure but the tannin is a bit grippy, with reasonable concentration and finish. Ready to drink now but can benefit from further ageing of another 2-3 years.

Cellared properly since purchase. Decanted 30 minutes. Appearance was much heavier than the palate. Medium body, with integrated tannins and mild acidity. Plum, red berries, spice and a bit of forest floor. Chocolate and plum finish.

Oak, red berries, tobacco and herbs on the nose, complex. Taste is medium+ bodied with great balance and lenght. Modern right bank bordeaux, very well made, and quite typical of it´s origin. Will last a decade, but is really nice already.

Oak, coca, coffee, black cherry and spice aromas open to a Bordeaux wine with a little too much oak. Supple textures and ripe fruit, make this easy to approach and enjoy. But I'd like to see a little less wood.

UGC Chicago Bordeaux 2008 Vintage: intriguing maybe mysterious nose. Powerful black fruit. pepper comes through on the nose. Tannin coats the teeth, but leaves the gums alone.

08 Château La Couspaude. La Couspaude is one of the first estates you see on your left after you leave the village of St. Emilion. From clay and limestone soils, La Couspade produces a soft, approachable, round style of wine. That the château is now using less new oak, down from 100% to 80%, should help it preserve more fruit and freshness in the wines. Oak, spice, blackberry, and plum notes are easily found in this appealing, medium bodied wine. The wine finishes with chocolate and raspberry flavors. It will offer pleasure early in life. 89-91 Pts

Bordeaux 2008 (Bordeaux): Very dark, modern color. Nose not showing much here. Palate is thick and warm. Cherry and plum notes. Some oak derived spice. Hint of drying tannin that could be worrisome. 86-90

UGC 2008 Bordeaux Tasting (Palate Hotel, SF): Hint of minerals on the nose, unexpected for the region. Palate a hint thin, but good.
