PN 65%, C 35%, dosage 4.25g/l. Illegible dates of tirage and disgorgement on the damaged back label. The colour is medium gold. Very fine bubbles, not terribly persistent in the glass but giving a pleasant coating in the mouth. The nose has a broad mature aspect with very good complexity and without any oxidative notes; no perception of oak. Similar in the mouth with a seamless quality, and a high level of comfort. Great harmony with a yellow fruit dominance, and the tiny element of bitterness in the finish does not outstay its welcome. I rarely venture into the world of luxury Champagne, simply because I don't perceive a reasonable return on my investment. So, is this better than my regular NV Champagnes (Chartogne-Taillet, Boulard, Caillez-Lemaire, Pol Roger, Bollinger, Charles Heidsieck, Delamotte, Roederer, Billecart-Salmon) ? Yes certainly, but nowhere near what the price multiple would lead you to expect. Very good but not revelatory.

Bottled in May 2006 and disgorged inNovember 2013 With 4.5 g/l. A touch tired and lacking a vibrant side and we wonder if this is a result of the much older disgorgement vs the ones we had with July 2019 disgorgement that were brighter. Well round, rich and with nice character but could use more energy. 90 this time round.

Ready to go, acidity is still there but there is no wayward tartness at all in this wine. Not the most complex wine, but the balance is superb. Finish is medium long with a palate of bruised apple, brioche and lemon. This is a style between the oxidized Krug style and the chiseled Pierre Peters style. Not at all sweet or cloying even if it is an earlier drinking vintage. The only thing that prevents it from scoring higher is the depth is only average.

July 2019 disgorgement. Two very consistent bottles on the day and this wine for sure is riding high at the peak of its drinking window and is just so welcoming. On the river and richer side of champagnes with 4.5g/l Dosage just right in our view. Once this wine ages further and become more vinous less champagne it would be one to look out for the lovers of the style. 92

This was quite fabulous, especially with the tempura we had. The nose was subtle, in a very Clos des Goisses fashion, with little notes of berries and apples, fresh citrus fruit, and just a little stream of minerality. Attractive, but it was on the palate was where this really shone though. Really fine mousse, lovely fine acidty, all lending a lovely sense of cut, definition, almost quiet elegance to an otherwise really powerful mouthful, with deep flavours of red apples and berry flesh cloaked with a hint of brandied notes, all leading into a generously broad, yeasty finish. Really lovely stuff, drinking well now, but with some room to grow yet.

What a difference from the recently-opened 2007! Rich, nicely beginning its ideal drinking window, and an overall pleasure. Firm but lush mousse, with a hint of lemon/curd and sea air on the front end, a tad of dried grapefruit at the side of the back of the palate (thanks to another taster),nice lightly burnt caramel with some viscosity after the wine opened--it persisted throughout into lower layer--, toasty brioche, and a richer base throughout than the 2007.

2 years since we had this last ( Papies 93) and continues on the good path. Round and with lovely richness , still bright but less of the energetic singer of its youth and more of an elegant dancer. Clos des Goisses is an interesting vineyard. Tasted blind and the muscular Pinot raspberry fruits and thicker texture suggested 2005, a vintage yielding muscular and blunt Champagnes. Mousey lees, fresh raspberry, ginger and ripe citrus, Grandes Marques style of brioche toast with slight oak influence. 2005? 60% Pinot 40% Chardonnay? From Grande Marque? (91/100)

At Bishan. Pop and poured. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon yellow colour. Legs. Bubbles. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of Meyer lemons, cream peaches, marzipan, brioche toast. Developing. On the palatge, dry, high acidity but not really as high as desired, medium alcohol (!3%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavours of ripe honeydew melons, Meyer lemon curd, cream peaches, citrus orange juice, marzipan. Long finish. Very good quality, albeit in a rich ripe fruity style and very broad on the palate. Could definitely do with some more focus and also needs more bottle age to develop more honeyed and tertiary notes.
