A great bottle of this that needed lots of air to come around. Taut and succulent with a touch of reduction, it delivers concentrated flavors of yellow fruits, clove, mint and a touch of caramel. Showing a lovely aged complexity on the finish yet the wine remains fresh and vigorous. A fabulous white Burgundy!

Lifted fresh lemony nose, white flowers and honeysuckle. A little waxy. With air, hazelnuts. Gorgeous. Lovely rich texture on the palate, lemons again. Fantastic trademark acidic lift, superb intensity on the finish. Saline minerality. Absolutely fantastic. Next to the Perrieres alongside this is notable for its incredible intensity and drive. Terroir tells!

Bâtard-Montrachet and Cathiard Malconsorts Dinner with Acker (Brindille - Chicago IL): Opened 30 minutes before serving. Alongside the Ramonet 2010 and 2011 Bâtard-Montrachet. Reductive start, but that mostly dissipated within 15 minutes in glass. Lots here, even if not particularly showing lots of "Bâtard-Montrachet" character to me. Very long finish, very lemony with some peach pie. This wine got mixed reviews from tonight's diners, some loving it, some finding it lackluster in its august company.

The 2008 PYCM Batard Montrachet had a slightly funky green nose, big and ripe with a reductive note that reminded me of old Leflaive, 1999 Bienvenues Batard Montrachet, not sure this was the best example of PYCM Batard. Tasted blind - Funky nose, reductive, golden orchard fruit? Ripe and generous. Big boned with good richness and Puligny purity. Puligny Montrachet Bienvenues Batard Montrachet? 1999? (90/100)

Compared with ‘13 Fontaine-Gagnard Criots next to it, this showing more acidity and detail, showing the differences of the vintages and styles. Some might prefer this. However this is at 3x the price of the Criots being a PYCM.

Ripe lemons and smoky oak balanced by bright acidity. Very enjoyable. Not the most balanced wine, but with lots of character. One of the longest wines of the vintage, the others being the PYCM Montrachet and Chevalier, and the Coche Perrieres. The Bouchard Montrachet is also fantastic.

Tremendous citrus fruit on the nose and palate. Sleek, reserved and lots of minerality. Steely. Not nearly as reductive as other PYCM Batards. Great energy and while this was lean today I imagine it will open up in time

Lemon in spades on the nose that leads to tons of lemon citrus and acid on the palate. A touch steely and austere on the mid palate as there isn't as much expansiveness of flavor as you'd expect from a batard or an 08 but you can tell it's so very youthful as there is this underlying tension in the wine waiting to come out. I didn't really get much time with the wine but I feel if I sat there for another hour or two, the wine would have become broader and richer.
