Now a mellow gold color, but flavors very similar to my last note from 2013. Lemon and peach. Suave and silky. Lovely, but maybe time to drink the rest? Paired with roast cod.

This is how to get over the COVID doldrums this Friday night. One bottle of a beautiful2008 grand cru Batard Montrachet, 1 wheel of Jasper Hill Winnemere cheese and a fresh baguette. All were perfect but the wine was exceptional, light yellow color, decanted for 30-45 minutes producing a gentle apple/pear nose, concentrated fruit in perfect balance, very smooth long finish. Feeling better already!

We were reluctant to open this Grand Cru now but we were interested in its development since we hold several bottles. It needed 30-45 minutes of airtime before the beautiful bouquet of floral pear appeared. light golden yellow color, concentrated citrus and stone fruit with good dose of minerals, perfect balance with a long heavenly finish. will surely improve over the next few years but very tasty now.

very good, but had a hint of caramel that makes me think drink up ASAP, notwithstanding the hint of coming premox this had decent acidity and citrus palate alongside some sweetness... just a little soft for my taste at this point... realizing there is no reason not to drink all my white burgundy young... i love the tension and grip and acidity, and i hate the smoke / caramel that these day (post '94) haunts these wines at their middle age

Nice nose of yellow and green apples, nice mineral, a bit less open than the 1er Cru.... Taste of very fat and concentrated yellow apple, even longer than the 1er Cru, minerality appeared after 30 min opening in the glass... Could even improve with 5 more years, great wine!

drank on New Years eve, this was the WOTN (beating out '05 Boillot Pucelles as the other white on the table), very nice acid, good minerality dominates the citrus fruit which is in the passenger seat, rounded enough to suggest to me this should be drunk soon (next 3-5 years), this did not have the mouthwatering (literally) acidity of the 2007 wine but was good nonetheless for those like high, tight and bright

Lovely. Lemons and peaches. Rich and silky texture. Very long. Didn't get the ginger or spice that others have, but that may have been drowned by the intense porcini and shallot butter flavors on my roasted monkfish. How to hold out for the benefits of bottle age?

I think there is so much "bang for your buck" with Paul Pernot. The texture on this wine is beautiful and silky and while the peach and honey flavors are light on the palate they balance well with the cool acid that runs through the backbone. There is a sense that there is a deep concentration of flavor in the wine right now but it needs a lot of time to open up but right now it's tasting very good and I think as the flavors amplify and come out of the shell it's only going to get bet.

Friday after Thanksgiving (FAT) (Palm Beach Gardens FL): Perfumed and floral start with intense ripe apricot. Same ripe fruit on palate, lots of apricot and peach, with intense clove and ginger spice. Perhaps the finest vintage for Pernot since his amazing 1999s.

A beautiful young Grand Cru, but still rather tight as one would expect. Aromas of lemon oil, mineral, white flowers, creamy vanilla and a slight nutiness. Rich, full-bodied and structured on the palate with great acidity and precision. Concentrated and dense with wonderful length showing tons of minerality. This clearly needs a long slumber in the cellar, but it was fun to try today.

Straw coloured, wonderful nose of hazlenuts and toast. Buttery and creamy citrus notes with great power and concentration. Terrific wine making: Estimated maturity: 2014+

2008 Pernot tasting at Acker Retail (Acker Merrall retail store, New York): Nose: A step up yet again, and the best nose of the 08 Pernots tasted. Floral, sweet, beautiful minerality, acacia - symphonic.
Mouth: very linear and laser-like w green lemon-lime flavors. Still taut now. Long excellent finish.
Nose: 6/6, Palate: 5/6, Finish: 5/6, Je ne sais quoi (wild card): 1/2 = 17/20 = 94/100
