Took about an hour to open up. Smells woody like a fresh tree being chopped. Dark fruits on the nose with a hint of sweetness. Still has plenty of fruit and could survive awhile longer.

Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim. Not showing much age.
Nice nose of black currants, blackberries, wood, vanilla, chocolates, vinaigrette, graphite, leather, earth, wet leaves, vegetables, dark coffee, herbs, tobacco leaf and black pepper.
Full bodied and bold with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with cherries, sweet raspberries, currants, cedar, earth, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, vegetables, vinaigrette, bitter herbs and peppercorn.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cranberries.
This Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley is interesting and tasty. Showing great complexity and mouthfeel.
This 12 year old is good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up and shows some tannins (90 minutes).
Reminds me of a 20 year old Right Bank Bordeaux.
Wine Enthusiasts 90 points.
The high alcohol is very nicely integrated by now, so watch out.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Organic.
14.7% alcohol by volume.
91 points.
$75 (current vintage).

This was a surprisingly youthful yet enjoyable Cabernet. Medium (+) to deep ruby with some purple hues. Ripe black fruit, and some subtle oak spice on the nose. The palate is dry, with medium acidity, medium (+) tannins and medium (+) alcohol. After ten years, this wine still has a fairly tight structure and could definitely spend several more years in the cellar. It is definitely a steak wine, not a sipping wine, and will please fans of a more restrained, Old World style of winemaking.

Decanted for about an hour. Tobacoo, current, dark berries in the mouth. Very smooth drinking and well integrated. Nice medium finish...tobacoo and some lingering fruit.

Wine was decent. Probably closer to a 90 for the rest of the folks. Uncorked to a red cherry stain on the cork, intact. The wine was decanted for about an hour. Immediately upon the dark red with slight purple tones pour into the glass, this wine was giving black licorice. And, this was primarily the one note that was expressing in the front, back, and (especially) the middle. This wine had a little bit of blackberry up front, a little vanilla sweetness. The middle was consistent with really just the black licorice. Rather powerful. The finish was very dry, and as it opened it seemed to get even more tannic. I think this one will improve on the finish and integration with 1-2 additional years in the cellar, but it will never be a 90-point wine, even for the 2007 "magical vintage." A little disappointed in this wine as I expected a 92 or 93 that just never came. If I were you I'd take the gamble, cellar this one for 2 years, and try again.

It has been over a year since I last visited this wine and the time laying down has helped it to improve. This is much more integrated now. Flavors consistent with my prior note. I think this still has upside if given more time.

Nice aroma and tasted a little young. Bought this one as a comparison to stags leap. A little too much tannin but could be a better drinker in a few years

Solid wine. Dark red color. Pretty nose of up-front cassis and black fruits, with good earth and tobacco notes. In the mouth, note as ripe as many others, with strong fruit and a good earthy, spice and tobacco turn. Bright acidity -- more than it needs to have in its class -- and a tannic finish. Will gain something with age. B+/A-

Good Cabernet. Nose of cedar, camphor, red berrries, and a little tobacco. A little hot on the tongue. But good flavors of red berries a decent tannins leading to a medium length finish. I believe this will benfit from a little more cellar time.

DC Wine Bloggers Tasting (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): I have a feeling I would've enjoyed this more alone, rather than tasted with so many wines. It was strange to have a Napa cab thrown into the tasting at this point. The nose was closed at first, but ipened to show smoke, currants and blackberries. The palate is rich and creamy and the cassis and pipe tobacco flavors mingle with the oak on the finish.

Beautiful nose of cassis, cranberry, pipe tobacco and cedar. The palate was nicely balanced with balanced red fruit, smokey minerals and cedar. Really enjoyed it.

Dark fruit, acorns, decaying forest floor, grape jam, farm smells. Very good acid and tannins.

Decanted over night. Medium ruby color. Raisin on the nose, touch of band aid.
Tasted same as smell--initial fruit followed by immediate punch of tannin and band aid.
Certainly expected more. 1.5L gift--if no improvements will opt for a different bottle to accompany dinner tomorrow.

Good bottle of California Cabernet -- doesn't disappoint, but nothing unexpected. Had at restaurant thus the price.
