Drinking well. This has fully unwound and shows classic Belluard Gringet Savoie character. Perhaps a little faded in the mid-palate. Not sure this will get any better.

Apple and lemon throughout with crunchy minerality and seemingly a saline finish. I recall enjoying this wine from several vintages when young, and this 2008 has held up very nicely. Great value wine, much better with dinner than on its own.

Not a fav for my dining companions, but I liked it. Although I have no experience with "Alpine wines" I would guess that this one fits that bill. Crisp and minearlly, but not like other wines I have had. A bit more intellectual than hedonic. Fine with me.

One of the most prominent apple scents I've ever experienced in a wine. Green apple on the palate, with a nice dose of acidity and a noteworthy saline/mineral finish. First experience tasting Gringet-based wine, and it was memorable.

Nice light white wine, good with the baked cod and fish and chips we had the last two nights. Some lime, some mineral, some white fruit, overall pleasing to drink.

Wow! Light and delicate. One gets a sense of spring and fresh rain water with flavours of faded apple and tangerine. Held up well over two days. This is a wonderful wine.

Lovely floral and apple pie aromas. Quite rich on the entry with round, stone fruit notes. Brighter and fresher on the mid palate with a little red fruit to the fore. Long apricot filled, almost creamy finish. Very nice.

True, not close to the '07. But if this were my first Feu I'd be raving about it. Ethereal and transparent, though a bit greener than prior years and the acidity could use another year or two to round out. I love this guy's wines.

A pretty wine. As expected from the price. Some very faint suggestions of Burgundian notes, but very light overall. Good acidity, good alcohol balance. Nice for the summer.

Delicious. My only problem it that I find myself comparing this to the stunning 07 Les Feu - the 08 is leaner, with more pronounced herbal notes. The acidity (and a strong note of green apples) sticks out too much. Whatever, it's still a very tasty wine.

A private lunch (Restaurant Marcus **, London, UK): Fragrant, alpine herbs, nice evolution, yellow apples, hint of nuts, spicy complexity; natural sweetness, lovely mineral freshness, supple, slightly rustic, sea breeze, red apple, nice intensity; good length.

Lemon curd, tangerine, laser cut acidity with a bit of heat on the finish. Long finish.
