  • On PnP, I agree entirely with others' prior notes. Ever so slight bitter note on medium, expressive finish. Tannins prominent and a bit drying but fading, with dark, mostly mature fruits. Black cherry, currants, pretty strong oak happening. Quite delicious and likely will open up soon.

Update 3 hours later. Dramatic improvement. Bitterness gone, replaced with smooth, mature goodness. Lovely.

  • Last bottle from a batch bought direct from the winery at release...had with my wood oven pizzas.

Consistent with prior notes (11/16) :"Vibrant purple color, some fading bit still. Cork crumbled, nose jumped out of the bottle once pushed through. Nose of dark berries, oak, cedar. Rich and expressive palate of dark cherry, currants, spice, vanilla. Sweetness through the mid palate, nicely balanced at this point. Medium weight and finish...."

This was a pleasant surprise, I thought this would have been gone by now when I came across these bottles last Fall. Bright fruits, nice weight, expressive and easy to drink.

  • Another (almost) forgotten bottle...pulled randomly after a Pride Sangiovese. Purchased this at the winery at release, remembering I liked it at the time, this was their lower price point offering. Had not intended to cellar this for 14 years...Splash decanted drank over 2 hours.

Vibrant purple color, some fading bit still. Cork crumbled, nose jumped out of the bottle once pushed through. Nose of dark berries, oak, cedar. Interesting, expressive and bright fruit profile. Probably past its prime, aged better than expected, an enjoyable wine...

  • Great Wine! Good Tanins wish I would have waited to open this with a good Ribeye.

  • Very dark purple, with a nice berry nose. Berry flavors, cedar and dusty tannins. The alcohol was a bit overpowering and the finish had a slight bitter note. I was afraid from previous reviews that it would be poor, but it was a nice mature cab - just a hair away from being something more special.

  • A little sharp, alcohol seemed a little out of balance. Beyond that, dark red fruit flavors, oak.

  • A few members of our group thought it "okay." Most were less kind.

  • At the winery with roasted short ribs as part of a cooking class in the caves. Medium body with good structure. Wonderful food wine with roasted meats or poultry. Nothing really dominates but has it all; spice, fruit, tobacco, vanilla. Should hold for a while but not a wine to cellar.

  • This Bordeaux blend is comprised of Merlot Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Providing a wonderful nose primarily of black currant, dark cherries, spice, and tobacco. However, as you further dwell on the aromas, you begin to pick up the faint whisper of licorice and vanilla. The currant and cherry flavors explode on the palate while providing more subdued notes of tobacco and finishing nicely with a touch of chocolate. This wine was extremely enjoyable with a medium rare pan-seared New York strip steak.
