Bought this wine from Mr Patti in person when touring Argentina ~ 4 years ago. Its held up very well, time to drink any remaining. A charming man, and clearly a talented, old world wine maker. If Napa still made cab like this, I'd buy Cab every week. Color is still deep purple and not yet started to brown. Nose is gorgeous, slightly dusty, hint of leather, red and black fruit. Finish is long and silky. A treat indeed.

Has lost some of it's huge nose and body. The huge mocha complexion is almost gone, leaving a smooth refined currant and blackberry core. Still excellent balance, but probably need to drink my last bottle within a year.

On the nose, aromas of rich earth, blueberry jam, plum, and an underground mustiness. An abundance of jammy fruit (blueberry), dry wood, and a hint of maple syrup. Lively acidity, and soft, subtle tannins. Medium to full bodied. A touch of spice on the finish, along with the fruit that carries through from the palate.

Deep ruby, brownish tinge. Lovely nose wafting off the decant of chocolate, coffee, blackberries, currants, pepper. Solid, smooth, med-full bodied with wonderful balance, picked up some vanilla w/ this bottle. Subtle oak, tannins. Probably not much left in cellaring potential, this wine is at its peak now.

Clear, garnet red. Fragrant nose of blackberry, black currants, cocoa, coffee, green pepper, herbs, forest floor and pepper. Medium bodied wine, but at 13.5% alcohol, lighter than most cabs. Palate is very similar to the nose, however, lead not as much with the blackberry fruit (which is still there), but with a spicy herbaceous character of green pepper, black olives and tobacco. Very well integrated tannins and great length on this wine.

Deep ruby red-brown color, and a huge nose of tobacco and chocolate. Decanted for 1 hr which really opens this wine up to a display of dark fruit, chocolate and perfect balance. Really outstanding.

Definitely one of the best wines available at the price point (ar$65 pesos). Carmelo is the "King of Cab" in Mendoza, and this vintage does not disappoint. Red-brown color and a huge nose. His wines need to breathe, at least 45-60 min in the decanter, and the drinker is rewarded with big chocolate, oak and raspberry integration.

Excellent. Peak year in 2011 compared to prior bottles. Lovely chocolate, cassis, oak complexion with sublime balance and a long smooth finish.

Delicious wine and a great value - only $32 paid. Wonderful big fruit with tobacco and a long, long finish. Great structure, without being too tannic.
