Glorious. Into secondary but far from tired. Utterly delicious. Tannins resolved at 3 hours but drinking well at one hour. Paired with a fantastic grilled steak and I was approaching gustatory heaven. Maximum QPR.

Pop and pour. Lovely nose: glossy red fruit, leather, herbs, a touch of cola. On the palate: wild strawberry, sweet tomato leaf, a good bit of heat and attenuated tannin. Very sweet with soft acidity and nicr density.

Well into 'stadio secondario'. Decanted with the most sediment of any wine we have ever strained. Initially there was off putting nose. This resolved. After 30 minutes there were ongoing mild grippy tannins but the wine reached it's steady state and was quite delicious. This bottle has run it's race. The tannins won. Drink up. Don't wait. Regardless, this bottle was a pleasure.
Only can be described as "incredibly good" after a four hour decant. When first opened I would have rated it 86. Grippy tannins still there but the fruit is so delicious...strong cherry and strawberry. Great bouquet as well.

Gorgeous modern Bartolo drinking perfectly right now. Opened up over 4 hours into a luscious blend of gemela spice and robust red fruit. Elegant long finish. Has plenty of life left.

Nose: The nose is savory and balanced with sour red cherries, plums, raspberries, crushed flowers, leather, licorice, menthol, roasted herbs, and tobacco notes. There is a hint of oak, but it has mostly integrated while the nose is quite perfumed and beginning to show some development.
Taste: The feel is full bodied with tart, high acidity and silky, high tannins. There is still youth to the structure, but it has begun to pull back and reveal tones of sour red cherries, plums, raspberries, crushed flowers, leather, menthol, roasted herbs, and tobacco notes.
Overall: The structure is starting to resolve with it showing well balanced, dark red fruits and good depth across the nose and palate. This can easily age another 8-10+ years if more tertiary development is wanted, but this is open for drinking after about two hours of air.

Corvined a glass to start the afternoon. Leather, rose and a hint of tar on the nose. Really nice flavors that just seemed to explode with a piece of cheese or dark chocolate. Tannins are smooth and almost totally integrated. Great mouthfeel and long finish . This is in a really nice place and at 43$ has an outstanding QPR. would definitely buy again.
Tight but approachable. Deep smoky cherry nose and wam tobacco and spiced caramel notes on the palate. Excellent with grilled pork and sausages. Medium finish that improves wth time. Opened 90 min and needed more time. Wonderful now but will improve in a few years. Wait and you’ll be rewarded.

Pop n pour. Drinking very nicely out of the gate. Pure nebbiolo flavors with cherry, licorice, dried florals and musk. Fairly round and smooth. A modern leaning style, but not at all over done.

Decanted for about 30 minutes before having with grilled skirt steak, and drank over the following 2 hours. Aroma is a mix of strawberries and bit of darker fruit like plum. A good deal of earthiness comes through as well. Taste has that same fruit flavor of strawberry mainly, and a good level of tannin. I think this could use quite a bit of time still to really shine best - not drinking bad now, but could use a few more years.

Vikings actually beat the Packers (Gary and Judy's): Decanted about an hour. Lovely rich red fruit on the nose. The palate is more acidic, and therefore more food-friendly. Good balance and structure, I'd like to try this again in 10 years.

Two bitter old gentlemen become gentle (Restaurant TANI, Tokyo): Upon opening: Nose: Amazing aroma that is enormous and enticing. Brown bananas and brown apples galore with a distinct feeling of a wet autumnal day. Soot, smoke, wet cement and no sight of violets. Still very young but not without interest. Palate: Intense, elegant and powerful M-bodied, super fit martial artist. Mouth-coating with M+++ tannins. Fruit and M++ acids cooperating perfectly. Some rubbery aromas in the aftermath. Long and VERY satisfying.
Still pre-window according to our books, but DARN delicious.
It was tonight's best wine and at the restaurant had lost the mushy fruit aromas and steadied its autumnal expressions. Fabulous.
Four btls to go. Next one is post-2020 (if I can muster up some self-discipline). At amazing Restaurant Tani.

Great wine, tested it against a Gaja San Lorenzo 04 and everyone thought this was better. Great balance, good fruit on the heavier side but great structure.

Surprise of the evening! Never had a wine from this producer before. Up blind against Gaja 20004 Sori San Lorenzo (one of my all-time favorite Piemonte wines!), and this was voted the “winner” in the flight. Nose is very fine & deep, dusty minerals, herbs and lovely clean cherries. Palate leans towards the modern style, with big and dense fruit, sweet and round, some oak spices, but with good balance, acidity and quite big and fine tannins. Very good length. Still young and will only get better with age, but in a sweet spot right now, very flirty. If I had any bottles in my cellar, I would wait another 5 years before popping one. Very nice new acquaintance. Worth seeking out. (94 – 96)

Very aromatic nose of dark cherries, vanilla and exotic spices. Sweet-sour fruit on the balanced palate, intermingled with cherry-like acidity, spices, grainy, sweet tannins and well-integrated oak and alcohol. Quite modern styled, but very tasty. Accessible now, but still quite young.

Way too young with a tremendous upside for keepers. Upon opening: BIC pen ink and plastic chemicals over explosions of fruit and bashful violets. After 16 hrs slow-ox and 2 hrs dbl decant, a mellowed animal greeted us. Colour is, for a Nebbiolo, slightly more rich than average. Bricking on the rim. Nose is rich, fruity, sumi ink, dried leaves and restrained and/or youthfully knit. Per os: this is where the action really is! First greeting mouthful was SA-tannic with mouth puckering acids. Medium bodied. The ample tannins are mature, fine grained and will keep enhancing this wine until "yonder". Has a delicate, yet firm, elegant composition that is the playground where I meet with Burgh-heads. A fantastic wine, and we popped in to say WELCOME to this World over lunch at * L'Effervesence in Tokyo. 5 more btls to go and next one on the other side of 2020.

Nose displays coffee and spicy grog notes. On the palate the wine surprises with good ripe tannins (for 2006!) - roto-fermentation?, it is juicy and spicy, with good weight, violet flavors, fine acidity and excellent structure. Good potential and should age nicely. - 90+ points
