Best of BBB robust red tasting. Rich, smooth and perfectly balanced with still youthful dark fruit, nice underlying earth and mineral notes, soft tannins and just right acidity. Drinking perfectly now, but showing no signs of old age. Try again in 2017.

Decanted about 2 hours. Deep, dark purple color. Earthy, peppery, blackberries, licorice, dark chocolate, baking spices, and tar on the bold nose. Medium to full body with big, ripe tannins and very nice acidity. Very savory on the palate with the fruit taking a back seat. Blackberries pop out on the finish with loads of pepper and spice. In a real nice place right now but no hurry on this wine.

Rich, deep, lots of fruit with enough acid to keep things in check. As the other note indicated, it smelled and tasted just a bit off when first out of the bottle -- much better two hours later. Drinking well now. A big petite sirah: choose the food it goes with accordingly.

2007 OC Petite Sirah Offline (Eldon's Pad): Tasted from magnum. Initially, when I opened this bottle before the event to double decant it, the nose smelled like baby pooh. My wife concurred. However, once decanted, this note disappears and what remains is a very, very nice wine. As Teddy Christle accurately called it for me, "bbq sauce/spice", coffee, leather, and just a forward opulent flashy wine. Terrific.

Quick Day Trip to Napa (Napa Valley CA): Tasting at winery. Smoky aromas to start with intense blackberry and a hint of black pepper. Similar flavor profile on palate with overall good balance and depth. Better 2006 or later.
