From memory - dark garnet color. The nose and the palate were packed with raspberry and plum that were very ripe, teetering on overripe. This medium-bodied wine had a plush mouthfeel and moderate acidity as well as a solid, dark fruited finish. Overall, this wine, with no food, was a bit too ripe for my palate, but it was large enough to pair well with a spicy sausage, black bean, and rice dish.

Dark red center with violet rim. Expressive nose of oak, raspberry and cherry with a touch of sandlewood. The palate is quite direct with raspberry and dark cherry coupled with a wisp of smoke and cocoa. Structurally, this medium-bodied wine has balanced acidity but shows a touch of heat on the finish. Overall, this wine is what I expect from a good CA pinot noir - big nose, ripe fruit, and good acidity.

And another Thanksgiving wine..... Green/herbal nose of raspberry and cherry; big body that has a bit of a rough acidic profile; massive flavors of cola and plum. Very good but slightly lacking in elegance and polish.

Wow! A big and beautiful Pinot. Nothing delicate here, big dark cherries with hints of vanilla, allspice and oak and a long finish. Full but still balanced. Serve as a aparatif or with food. Drinking wonderfully now, I recommend drinking before 2013.

Nice Sonoma Coast Pinot. Bit young but drinking well. Cherry nose. Red cherry fruit with hints of spice. Medium to long finish. This is enjoyable even while young.

Black cherries, raspberries and plums over damp earthy notes, but there's a little woodiness apparent on the back end. It doesn't have the same elegance, polish and freshness as the other Benovia Pinots I tasted, rather disappointing in comparison.

Rich, big fruit -sweet cherries - right up front with distinct Pinot Noir notes of tobacco and mushroom fleshing out in the middle. This is wonderfully balanced with silky tannins and a long bright finish.

Not to my liking... tastes like a mass produced wine that's been evaporated to increase concentration. Sour. Not much to recommend it.. but I'm also not a CA pinot fan in general.

simple Pinot with a harsh finish - too much alcohol. disappointed especially for the price and Benovia name

too oaky and not integrated yet. Some of the fruit came out after about 40 minutes but not what I was hoping for
