  • Observations similaires à juin 2017.
    Excellent.

  • Lively crisp ruby colour. Nose of roses cherry garden scents some spice some cola, also sweaty grippy stones. Quite salty but a lovely play of sweet fruit and salty wood notes. Silky structure and light tannins that carry on the salty fruit.

  • Very light crystalline colour. Porky meaty notes. Light and supple cool feel with minty flavours. Delicate but not quite as fragrant as a usual Chambolle.

  • Interestingly I had this more than 3 years ago. Looking at the notes, seems like there wasn't much difference. I still couldn't pinpoint this as Chambolle when blinded! My guess was Vosne villages actually. Good freshness from the tingling mint feeling on the palate rather than acidity. I believe this is what Thibault told me before on how he crafts freshness in his wines. Very good but not particularly distinguished.

Conclusion : du Chambolle avec émotion, on adore.

  • So pretty. Bright red fruit. A hint of spice. A hint of flowers. Nice fruit and sweetness. Great texture. No harsh tannins. Not shut down. Everything in place. My second and last bottle.

  • This can only be chambolle. Chambolle florals and perfumed strawberry cherry fruits. Delicious wine. Simple yet adorable and delectable. This is an absolutely drinking and enjoy now vintage. Lovely wine.

  • Good value wine it is. Aroma was impressive after 2 hrs in decanter with spice mineral as the dominant character, complement with some nice herbs, forest-like earthiness that forms up a sexy impression. All the elements of this wines are quite in line and persistent, nothing stick out and has a good balance that shown in its pleasant medium finish. Slightly lacking the elegance but it makes up with its rather showy display of a combination of cherry core & mineral backbone.

  • 2011 Simple Series X: Mark in town (Asia Grand @ Odeon Tower): 13.5%
Light purple. This has only decanter for mere 60mins hence not surprise that this still exhibit some austerity on both nose and palate. Quite a manly aromas but still display Chambolle character of forest floors, high tone red floral and cherry fruits a well as orange with light touch of mild spicy tone. On the palate, this has the feminine character of a chambolle but also with power with it, a bit austere as always with Thibault wine. Creamy and well balance, the acid is very fresh and together with the fine grained tannin that provide a sappy mid palate. The finish is long, grippy with earth and mineral aftertaste that is fresh and energetic. 87-89

  • 2011 Simple Series VIII: Dinner with Mark Roberson of Goedhuis (again) (Asia Grand, Odeon Towers): Unusually for our group, this was yet another very young Burgundy. I thought it was quite lovely though - on reflection, the nose was telltale Chambolle though no one guessed it correctly save for the one lady at the table. Decanted for 2 hours, it had a beautiful bouquet - tons of flowers, cherries and raspberries tumbling out of the glass along with just a touch of green herbs. High-toned, perfumed and pretty. After that, the palate actually came across quite unexpectedly sappy and quite rich for a 2008, with a delicious but rather modern ring of sweet berries and cherries starting off on the attack and layering the midpalate. Not the most feminine of Chambolles given its textured feel, but this nevertheless had a dash of finesse to it. The finish was not the longest, but it was certainly decent enough, with ripe red fruit notes sprinkled with a bit of spice, all kept clean, pure and transparent with a nice bright acidity. Actually quite pretty. Primary at the moment of course, but this should prove a very nice Chambolle in the mid-term. I enjoyed this.

  • Undeniably a Burg from the clear color and the nose. Lovely and charming nose with decent depth. I had difficulty pinpointing it as a Chambolle, though a lady did, so additional points for the clarity of the terroir. But definitely made in a slightly more masculine style. Very pure, can't feel the oak treatment. A not especially distinguished wine but a wine of modesty.
