Oh man, the medium golden color told us that this is much older than the Carillon and I thought this was from mid 90s. The aromas is ripe and quite powerful with honey, peaches, yellow floral that added better complexity with roasted almond, hazelnut as well as dried herbs. This really captured everyone attention with it's color and expressive aromas. Entry was very rich and creamy, almost viscous that move on to the weighty, concentrated mid palate that has plenty of sap with flavors of iron, nut, mineral and a touch of honey on the kinda disjointed finish with red apple and peaches aftertaste. Everything seems right from the nose, entry and mid palate, however I feel that this wine a bit too forward an lack of tension as well as the disjointed finish, perhaps bottle condition wasn't that good? The 1999 I had weeks ago was a way better example of this plot from Lafon. 87

Dark golden. This being insert here in order to served with the braised fish dish of which I must thanks Paul for this arrangement as the wine and fish matched very well. The sweet aromas is matured and a bit soft with honey coated peaches, plum, apricot intermixed with a little bit of spices, mushroom and there was this hint of fishiness make this a notch down. Creamy, rich, with a bit of salinity with flavors of salted plum, little touch of spice and rubber to the slight disjointed finish, quite simple but still very fresh to enjoy this 40yrs old wine though.

With the vintage tell-tale aromas and character I quickly marked this down as a 09 Morgon, it is just so distinctive. Sweet cherry cola, red floral, a bit of orange and earth. The palate was pretty focus and discreet ad with the sense of restraint, quite structured with bright acid and mineral backbone with the medium weight, fruity mid palate with the slightly rough tannin kick in here that resulted in quite dry finish with mocha after taste, this is rather simple compared to those 09 Beaujolais Cru I had this year but this has the freshness and friendliness to go with, also the pocket friendly price tag!

Bright dark ruby red, youthful. Very sweet on the nose, almost candied cherry, cherry cola, orange, curry leaf with touch of earth and meatiness. Similar to the nose, the palate is a bit tight and austere that slightly cover the underlying rich fruits. Similar to the previous bottle, this is quite structured and a little bit rough with the slight bitter tannin mark the harshness of the wine but perhaps this is even more backward and less expressive. The medium length finish is lingered with mineral, dried tea leaves, orange dark chocolate and trace of alcohol. Quite a modern one.

Slight milky pinkish. First sniff: very old!! Strong heavy barnyard with secondary notes of mushroom, earth, old leather. This still possess good level of fruits that consist orange, red cherry, dried fig, very perfume! Similar to the 66 Musar I have had, still very lively with good mid palate richness and concentration with quite a complex flavors of barnyard, plum, dried fig, smoke meat, earthy and also antique furniture. A little bit of dusty tannin kick in here for better grip that leads to medium length finish linger with barnyard and quite spicy aftertaste and spicy.

Dark ruby red. Similar to the Beaujolais, this too is very high tone with cherry cola, perhaps more intense and darker fruits with mint, vanilla, spice and capsicum, really not bad but this come across as pungent as hint of alcohol puke out. Rich, straightforward, but very concentrated with dark plum, blackcurrant fruits that wrapped in a creamy package. Very easy on the palate and flow to the medium length finish with vanilla, bitter cocoa and mineral aftertaste that showed a little bit of austerity too.

Almost everyone catched this as a Pessac Leognan. Lots of soil, gravel, scotched earth on the highly perfume bouquet along with tobacco, black cherry, peppery spice and green capsicum, so Claret! This has very good harmonious and complexity as well as purity on the palate. Expansive yet with the restraint of a classic claret. Very fresh with firm acid and fine tannin grip but all the element is well balance and integrated. A little bit edgy, but overall I really enjoy this compared to the recently highly extracted and opulent version. The finish is really juicy and sappy with bitter sweet cocoa. Real good wine.

This is lovely on the nose, almost fully matured with elegance on the intense bouquet that display dried tea leaves, mushroom, earth, mineral intermixed nicely with red cherry and some floral tone. I found the palate is a notch down compared to tue nose as this has little bit rusticity that come from the rough tannin. However, this is well balance with good mid palate depth and sappiness that goes on to the juicy, slight austere finish. Not bad but hardly come close to the 2006.

Light purple. This has only decanter for mere 60mins hence not surprise that this still exhibit some austerity on both nose and palate. Quite a manly aromas but still display Chambolle character of forest floors, high tone red floral and cherry fruits a well as orange with light touch of mild spicy tone. On the palate, this has the feminine character of a chambolle but also with power with it, a bit austere as always with Thibault wine. Creamy and well balance, the acid is very fresh and together with the fine grained tannin that provide a sappy mid palate. The finish is long, grippy with earth and mineral aftertaste that is fresh and energetic. 87-89

Light golden with light green hue. Very aromatic, fresh and focus with lots of coldness, ginger spice, pepper, mineral with a mixture of lemon lime in the core. The intense palate echoed to the nose: crisp entry that us refreshing that move on with rich creamy mouth feel that is highly focus with great tension. The juicy, mineral infused medium length finish is elegance and lingered with touch of lime and spice. Another 5yrs will be better and this shall merit a Outstanding if this gained better depth in the bottle. Delicious. 88-89+
