Cork was in good condition. Lovely mid red colour with slight bricking to edge. But it is the nose that seduces you. Sweet dark fruits. Clean- no off smells. The fruit marries with secondary nuances, herb, spice, some oak and vanilla, asian spice. Palate wise, tannins soft and velvety, balanced, finish quite long on back palate. A wine to savor. For a 20 year old wine it carries it's age really well. Well cellared bottles should easily sail on another 7 years. Quite a tribute to the label and the winemaker.

Classic Coonawarra CS and Shiraz blend - intense, very youthful. Long if rather on one note. Too young for my palate - more interesting in 2-5yrs I'll waher

This wine is aging gracefully. Big floral nose and still very dark in the glass. Smooth tannins and little heat. Very enjoyable wine. I plan to drink the rest of my bottles over the remainder of the year.

Solid shiraz. Drinking very well with minimal time in the decanter. Had with lamb dinner. Lots of fruit but not a fruit bomb. Very smooth at this point. I don't think there is any rush to drink this wine as it is still heavy and dark.

When a winemaker nails a blend, he really nails it. This tasty Cab (mostly) and Shiraz blend has plenty of good drinking ahead of it. Smooth, fine-grained tannins, and full-bodied, this wine shows a judicious use of oak to allow the purity and quality of the Coonawarra fruit to shine through. Nothing over-extracted or out of proportion, this is an elegant, lovely wine. I would buy a case if I could. This is why we drink wine. Drink thru 2016, approx $49

Enjoyable but fairly prototypical. Lots of oak and tart fruit. Has held up well but not remarkable.

Decanter Australia and New Zealand Fine Wine Encounter (The Landmark Hotel, London.): Classic Shiraz nose of pepper and dark berry fruit. Good mouth feel, full of rich extract with lovely balance and structure. Finishes long. 92 - 93
