On pop and pour: Moderate- intensity nose of dark cherry (slightly stewed), leather, earth. Notable phenolics add interest. These follow through on the palate with medium intensity with bright acidity, as well as spiciness in the finish.

Don't let the screw cap fool you! This wine stands up to much pricier Pinots. Decanted for half an hour. Light ruby color with the nose offering weed, leather, and raw meat. The palate follows the nose. It is herbaceous with a meaty flavor at the start followed by red raspberry, tobacco, and a hint of chocolate. It finishes very nicely; smooth with medium length leaving behind chocolate and raspberry. Low/med acidity and tannins give it a firm structure and balance. Overall, it is very pleasant, interesting, and definitely a good value wine.

Bright red garnet colour. Unusual bouquet of chocolate, molasses, violets, strawberries, toffee and condensed milk. Bright, dancing acidity, lovely savoury puckering grip on the tongue, very pleasurable lightness of touch leading to a firm, tannic mouthfeel and lively summer berries.

Wine Spectator rated this a 89, and I will agree with that. Fabulous QPR! Red berries and blossoms, small oak, more body than many PNs, a very nice finish. I bought all that Sam's had and wish they had more.

The beginning and end are great, but the middle leaves a lot to be desired. The nose is wonderful - strawberries, cherries, some funk. The attack is good - fruit, some earth... then the sour hits. The mid palate is very, very sour. Kind of like sour cherries, but without most of the cherry. It's tough to get past this, despite a nice finish. As the finish approaches, the sourness intensifies, but then dissipates into delicate pinot. Not bad for $15, but a good indication of what you get when you go for cheap pinot noir.

soft red with some delicate flavours, but I find it difficult associating this wine with the Burgundy PN I know….

Took some time to open up. Better on Day 2. Cherry, earth, and some spice. 88 on Day 2.

Not great but very good for the low price. May be too fruity for some.

A day after opening - much better. The sourness is gone, but the lovely nose remains. Pleasant.

New World Tasting (Crystal Wine): Nose: Smoke, mud with some definite barnyard notes. Sweet and fragrant.
Taste: Pepper, spice, chock full of red fruit. Quite a bigger body that what I am used to for Pinot Noir. Delicious, but Pinot Noir? I dunno.

Violets and berry fruits on the nose with a silky mouthfeel, more berry fruit and crunchy tannins.

Attractive aromas of violets and soft red fruits with a silky mouthfeel, more berry fruit and well integrated tannins. A good finish.
