Rich purple hue, not showing its age in the glass. Hints of chocolate and blackberries, strong tannins, still a nice wine with a lingering but short finish. Don't hold this too long.

Dark hue. Nose of tar and some kind of fruitwood like applewood. Complex palate: dark berry fruit, vanilla extract, mild clove/mulling spices. Nice with or without food. Enjoyed this bottle having given it time in the cellar.

This was simply outstanding. Nearly 10 years in the bottle has made this a luxurious wine. It was bold, fruity, and quite smooth. Color was heading to brown, just a tad. Yum!

Had this a couple of days ago. I was hoping for more here: while there were many good aspects of the wine - good concentration and nice flavours for example - there were also negative aspects, like too much oak, minimal complexity and an overall unidimensionality. I don't know if this is improving with age, and the issue of over-oaking in this era of WA wine is an issue. Maybe its also a function of my tastes changing too, but I don't think this wine is on an upswing at this point of its life and I thought it was somewhat disjointed and disappointing - a little overwrought overall (B+).

Decanted >2 hours. A little bit of Cab but not overpowering. True blend with lot’s of flavor, big red fruit, hints of earth and spice. Drinking very well but probably still has time left. Only question, why wait!

Hazy impressions from last night. This seems ready now, all the parts integrating well, with black and red fruits in an elegant, smooth, medium-full bodied palate. Nice complexity and concentration now, but it will last years yet I think (A-).

A soft cab great tannin acid smoothness more cherry than pepper, but an elegant wine with tenderloin prime roast, beautiful color, great fruit perfume nose

Dark colored but porous. Nose of tar and some kind of fruitwood like applewood. Complex palate: dark berry fruit, vanilla extract, mild clove/mulling spices. Really wish vicosity & finish lived up to palate. Nice with or without food.

First experience with this producer. Big blackberries, spice, vanilla on nose. Nice smoothness of tannins, with rich black fruits, candied plums, minerals. Much better on day 2 as baby fat faded. I would suggest an extended decant. In line with many Andrew Will & Mark Ryan wines.

Drank with a ribeye and roasted vegetables. Why did I buy only 1 bottle?! Beautiful blend with dark cherry flavors. You might want to decant as my bottle had a lot of sediment.

Completely closed for at least two hours after opening, giving up nothing but hard tannins. The second night this opened up nicely, ripe dark fruit, chocolate, modern style.

A nose of blackberry, raspberry and leather. Blackberry, chocolate, raspberry on along finish. Very smooth gentle tannins. Worked well with roast beef dinner. This is a very balanced wine with no rough edges. Bold and clean

Popped and poured through the Vinturi - still needed about 30 minutes to fully open up; nice dark fruits aromas; cassis, cedar, pleasant green pepper note; dusty tannins, long finish. This was a very nice bottle - IMO will be better in a couple years.

Vinturi to decanter. Let sit about two hours and it didn't last long after that, though it was still opening up after three and a half. The nose had plenty of alcohol early on that finally blew off, with cherry, plum, and a little oak. Great structure, with a palate that followed the nose and a great smooth finish.

Mrs. and I loved this wine - it tasted great and the QPR was outstanding. I think I need to get some more. Cherry and other red fruits with enough tannins to allow this another 5 or so years I would imagine. Not incredibly complex, but for the money, very tasty.

Red-fruited, with some oak and talcum powder, similar style to the merlot. Has a healthy acidity, but I don't know if this has enough sweetness to the fruit to truly be great. For now, 89-90.

This is the way wine is supposed to be IMHO. Dark, yet acidic, complementary to steak, yet a great stand alone. Chocolate, dark berries and rich.
