This was better then I remembered, and judging by my previous notes, has improved with some cellar time - to bad it was my last bottle. Decent fruit, though just a touch too much acid and little tinny. Clearly a lesser wine then the '08 Bluejay we had at the same time - but nevertheless very good QPR for the region.

Brought and enjoyed at a dinner party, with minimal decanting before the first pour, and not much more than an hour for the whole bottle. Nice bright black cherry, a touch savory, acid. Satisfying if not sensational, balanced and no off flavors. Notable improvement from 2 years ago, but doesn't seem to have the substance to let run for more than another year or two.

I really enjoy this wine. Brought it to a tasting and it was a hit all around (even from the pinot-haters of the group). Did not make formal notes on this bottle, but it is a great value that drinks above its pricepoint.

Translucent dirty red. Strawberry basket, cinnamon, and a touch of leather on the nose. Medium bodied, spicy cherry cola, raspberries, soft smooth tannins, good acid, a little dirty in the back, and a medium + finish. Enjoyable, and over-delivers for the price.

I really cant remember whether this was a 2008 or a more current release. I got a lot of raspberry, cranberry, and some blue fruits, with a yeasy warmth on the palate. Tons of acidity. Has earthiness--mushrooms and smokiness- well integrated into its fruit. Certain amount of tartness, too. nice nice.
blend of sonoma coast, russian river, and anderson valley grapes*

Well-aired bottle, 2 hrs or more. Subtle, elegant nose of tart fruit, cooling spice, mushroomy notes. In the mouth has sophisticated, rich bright slightly sour slightly metallic fruit (red cherry, blackberry, perhaps raspberry) with notes of minty herb (or pine scrub) and some stone. Finish fades in balance with elements from the mouth. Dry. body medium minus, acid medium, tannin medium minus.

Color is a little dark for a typical pinot, but the nose is mostly cherries with a little plum. It tastes excellent though. Especially slightly chilled on a warm summer evening. The plum and cherries really come through on day two, this could have been cellared for a few more years and it would have only gotten better.

Nose is not too strong, slowly opened after about 1.5 hrs decanting, sour black cherry, acetic acid, a hint of baking soda. Taste is fairly acidic, more black cherry, a bit more vinegar then I'd like, but rather smooth overall. Enjoyable enough for the price.

2008 was the year of fires in Northern California and especially Anderson Valley area. Most of the fruit in this wine, which sells for $24/bottle, came from the Savoy Vineyards. It was filtered more than is the winemaker's usual style. We didn't take detailed tasting notes, and none are yet posted on the website (we had to add the wine) but it was a nice little pinot, true to varietal with with nice fruit forwardness. I imagained some smokiness, but not in a bad way and not dissimilar to leather. This was at the end of a long afternoon of tasting, so we're going to set it down for a few months and then pull it out for dinner.

This was from the year of big fires in Sonoma and there was a question of smoke. Maybe, but it was a lovely Pinot and nicely aged.

Going into a dumb phase. Took a bit to open. Then went to cherry and a touch of anise on the finish
