This is a "wish I had more" wine. Beautiful nose of casis and forest floor. Still plenty of fruit and good tannic structure. Developing lots of tertiary notes, but still tastes relatively young. Not at its peak yet! I have one more bottle of this and will be saving it for a few years.

Cassis and spice, medium bodied and fruit forward. Splash decant, this didn't show quite as well as other bottles, being a little more plummy and not showing as much structure as others have done. Still a nice, easy to drink, value Bordeaux.

Deep garnet. Only a tiny bit of sediment. Huge nose of black fruit and lead pencil. The palate is consistent with the nose. Medium full bodied. Goodly amount of tannins. A bit new world but delicious and quite complex. More time will reward. Another 5 years will be easy. Taste from the half bottle. Much more interesting than a few years ago.
Like KEN332 wrote before me, we have been thru a number of bottles of this wine, in this vintage as well as the '05, and '10 vintages and think it represents a solid qpr. Plums, cassis, tobacco, smoke and cedar on the nose and palate with medium body, medium to high acidity, and mostly resolved tannins. Modern in style, and fruit forward for sure, this may not be the most complex bordeaux, but it is solid, dependable and goes well with food. You could do worse.

Served with grilled rib-eye steak. Have been through over a case of this wine over the past few years and it continues to be a very good, relatively inexpensive, Bordeaux with cassis and spice in the nose and initial flavors, modest tannins, and a good finish. Acidity is high enough to serve with grilled steak. All in all, a very good wine that should probably be drunk within the next 2-5 years.

Disappointing. Would have thought that the Silvio Denz name behind it and a great vintage would have made for a solid wine. One-dimensional and ready to drink, I found the Lalande-Borie 2009 to be far more interesting.

Dark purple and red hue. Cassis and earthen notes on the nose. Nice mouthfeel and very concentrated. Cassis and mincemeat on the palate. Tannins remain a bit chewy. Medium + acidity. Would never mistake this for a classified growth but this is a good value wine. Would not hold for much longer; a tad bit out of balance. Not my style but very good for the price.

Nice bottle. Pnp, consistent with previous bottles. On the nose, cassis, smoke, tobacco and spices. On the palate, warm dark fruits, plums, cassis and cola. Not very complex and still not developing any secondary notes, this is still a enjoyable bottle of bordeaux from an excellent vintage. Own this chateau in multiple vintages and it always seems to represent a solid qpr.

Pnp, showing much the same as previous bottles. Nose and notes of cassis, plum, cola, and a bit of toasty oak. Medium bodied and modern in style, balanced, with sweet tannins and just a bit of bitterness on the end. Not complex, but shows the sweet ripe fruit of the vintage. Nice qpr on release.

Pnp, this bottle really showed well. A little glass time and this wine shows cassis, smoke, warm ripe dark fruits, a little oak and dirt. For a minor Chateau, this seems pretty big, and is still improving with time in bottle. Based on this and the '10 vintage, I've bought some of the '15 and '16. I can't be too wrong. Great qpr.

The Merlot and Cab Franc are really prominent. The tannins are perfect in this 2009 Bordeaux. A little sweet with organic notes. Nose of tomato aspic and plum. Hard to believe this wine did not cost more. Definitely deserved its grades from WS and Suckling. Yummy with lamb and molten chocolate ramekin. Still has cellar life, but ready now.

On the nose this wine smells of cassis, plum, cola, and a bit of smoke. On the palate, cassis, warm dark fruits, toasty oak, with a little bit of bitterness. Seems like there's a lot of sweet fruit trying to come thru, but not quite there yet. Seems to have the tannins and fruit to stand up to more cellar time, and if that's true, this may be an even better qpr than it is now. A bit simple, this is still a nice way to taste the '09 Bordeaux vintage while the bigger wines sleep.

Pretty dark and slightly bitter. Some hints of spice that reminds a little bit of garrigue and quite a bit of stony mineral flavors. Definitely a food wine.

In a good spot right now. For an under $20 Bordeaux, nothing to complain about. Purple in color. The nose is nice with cassis, some spice and a bit of tobacco. On the palate, this is solid. Good cassis fruit with some underlying earthiness. Not a ton of complexity. No hurry so perhaps more cellaring brings out more. Still, for under $20, this is showing quite nicely now. Works better with some food.

Served with Bobby Flay spice rubbed grilled flatiron steak. Opened about 2 hours before serving. Nose of cassis, graphite, modest tannins, slightly course in the initial tasting, but this is a very well made, inexpensive Bordeaux with 5-10 years to go. Almost no signs of aging, but near its peak.

I guess this is why you try another bottle when you feel something is amiss. My last bottle I gave this wine an 86 with some faults to it but serviceable. This bottle was terrific, although decidedly ripe there is still the classic Bordeaux profile of lead pencil and earthiness along with ripe cherry. This bottle disappeared quickly

As with previous bottles of this wine, excellent fruit up front with cassis, spices, and plums, moderate tannins, and a good finish. Opened up more over time and was very good after a couple of hours. I could have scored this a bit higher, but I think this is a good score for now.

Quite a nice generic Bordeaux from a good year. Served with grilled prime NY strip. Initial nose of cassis, plums, and wood with a good mid-range with noticeable but not bitter mid range tannins and a good finish. Should improve for a few years and still a bit young.

Substantial Petite Chateau. Aromatically faithful to Bordeaux without scaling the heights: cassis, pencil lead, some rose essence, but actually more savory than fruity. The palate is quite substantial with body and rather surprising length. 4 + 11 + 16 + 8

Double decanted about 2 hours before serving and served with grilled NY strip steak. I can't remember what I rated this wine last time, but it has gained weight, complexity, and charm a year later. I purchased this as a 'sleeper of the vintage' based on Robert Parker's recommendation. Plus some other wines. How does he do it? These are all coming into their own for prices in the $20s.

Previously tried this wine about 1-1/2 years ago and it continues to improve. Double decanted about 2 hours before drinking and served with seared duck breast. As one might expect from a 2009, somewhat fruit forward with full mouth feel of cassis, plums, light wood, and blackberries. Tannins in the mid-range and finish largely hidden by the fruit and a good finish. This is an excellent example of less expensive Bordeaux in a great year. Look forward to drinking a number of these in the future.

Bordeaux 2009/2010 tasting at home. PnP. Cap de Faugères has been one of my absolute favorite value-priced Bordeaux for years. But in 2009 they really hit it out of the ballpark. Interesting but slightly closed nose of chocolate, plum, blackberries and toast. On the palate there is also a touch of leaves/green bell pepper (but not from underripe grapes) and some leather notes. It's medium-full bodied, with pretty firm medium+ tannin and medium+ acidity. The alcohol is slightly recognizable, but nicely balanced by the acidity. Long finish. On day 2 it still showed fantastic and opened up some more. A breath-taking value ($20) and a lot of fun to drink. (90-91)

Popped and poured. This is a dark, inky purple wine. On the nose, there's plum, red fruits, and some alcohol. In the mouth, this is smooth and plump, albeit slightly pinched in the middle. The finish is nicely fruity. Overall, this is enjoyable but not complex; it's got a good QPR. 88 points.

Tasted over 5 nights and stored in fridge. Luscious and deep, dark fruit, herbal notes, and solid structure holding it together. Also had a mild green streak the first couple of days which faded the longer it was open. This is an excellent, modern styled Bordeaux which should last 10 years at least. Great value.

Double decanted about 2 hours before serving. Full nose of casis, blackberries and touch of leather with the flavors persisting into a full mouth feel followed by noticeable round tanins, that are not bitter and a touch of alcohol in the finish and after taste. Mostly agree with Cephomer. Some dark fruit (cherry, but more like cherry pit), shoe leather, little fruit at all. A dark wine...not for the lighthearted, stood up with authority against a grilled rib eye. I'd like to try another one in about 2-3 years, I bet it will soften a little.

Drank at Ned tasting vs the 2000. The older wine was medium red color, perhaps showing slight bricking at the edges, medium bodied. Nose was all tertiary aromas: mushrooms, truffles, not so much fruit. The wine tasted as it smelled: All kinds of wild mushrooms and truffles and earth and other savory stuff. The wine is drinking as well now as it ever will, shows great harmony among its components, mild tannins, fairly long savory finish. I'm glad I have a few in my cellar to enjoy. The 2009 showed much more fruit, darker in color, plums and other dark fruits dominated. Seemed a bit hotter than its predecessor. A lovely wine that in its own right, but different than the 2000 (and not as enjoyable to me). It's drinking well right now but could stand a little bottle age. I scored it a 90

Wine is a very modern-styled bordeaux. Very fruit forward with red/black fruit on the nose and mid-palate. Sweet tannins are mild, but almost cloying. Could be confused for a Napa wine but has a hint of smokiness and tobacco on the finish. Not a particularly complex wine, and a bit sweet for me, but if you like modern styled reds it's a good choice/value.

This is a deep-to-opaque crimson, fruity effort with aromas and flavors of plum, blueberry, fennel and espresso. It is medium-bodied and fresh on the palate, with well-integrated tannins and alcohol (the latter being listed as 14%). The middle thins ever so slightly but the resurrected finish is medium in length and weight. This is yet another example of why 2009 will go down as one of the greatest vintages ever. Mother nature gave humble châteaux such as this the substrate to make delicious wines. As is the case with many wines from this appellation, it represents tremendous value. Drink now-12/17.

Nose: Bright currants, pepper, tobacco leaf, licorice, bramble. Palate: Pencil lead, sweet currants on the attack. Drying tannins, more sweet fruit on the mid-palate. Licorice-laced currants on the finish.
So, this wine is a pretty good QPR. Ripe, sweet fruit, good structure, lots of tannins now that will integrate with a few years. Just enough acidity too. This would be the type of bottle I serve cheaply to guests that aren't attuned to Bordeaux and want to know what the story is.

A nose of caramel that reminds me of hot summer days. I also sense toffe and some acid. The taste is fruit first and then alcohol, a bit stronger than I'd initially expected. This did even out and improve with time out of the bottle. It was also better on the 2nd day, suggesting that there is plenty of room for aging.

Great value. Sampled over three nights, with blackberry and milk chocolate dominating the palate on night one. The fruit profile subsided over nights two and three, but the chocolate remained with more earthy elements coming out (perhaps the Cab Franc expressing itself?) Definitely displays a new world sensibility, albeit with the old world structure that reflects its region.

Sleek black ruby with good viscosity. Opened nicely over 2 days open in the bottle. Complex berry fruit, aromatic. Pretty fruit on the palate, still tannic with good grip, but lots of fruit; rich. This Wil be great in a few years and will last for at least 10 or 15. Nice and areal bargain. 5-12-16-8: 91/100.

This is really delicious. I'll acknowledge that it is not particularly complex, and that it is no longer the value it was just a few years ago, when bottles could be had for $10-$12 (remember that fantastic 01 Cap?). But it has a legit Bordeaux profile and it's really enjoyable right now. I suspect it will add a little complexity over the next 3-6 years, but not a ton - drink up any time between now and 2022 and enjoy.

Better than the barrel sample from last year. Beside the fruits there are some vegetal and metal impressions in the bouquet. On the palate however the juice is pleasant and easy going with a touch of sweetness and also some luxurious elements. Ok for the price.

Much better than the last bottle. This one has the rich, chewy, plum fruit surrounded by a firm structure that makes it such a winner every year. Love it.

Fruit forward, full nose of cassis and plums, very mild tannins and good acidity, with a touch of rasberries in the finish. Very good non-classified Bordeaux which should hold for 5 years or more. Look forward to more bottles of this wine.
