Opened with ravioli rustica w/meatballs. Inky, dark bloodred. Deep plum spices, grape core of blacks and squid ink, marmalade, braised blackberry. Smooth silk, deft sweetness and weight, well integrated. Quite nice. Final thoughts after two days under vac-u-vin, jammy plum sauce, still holding some nice fruit. Not overly complex.

4th Saturday Group brown bagger (Mike & Cyndi's): Inky crimson color with aromas of sour black fruit, herbs and raspberry liqueur. This has softened a bit; flavors of black fruit, boysenberry and plum. Develops an odd sour citrus quality.

4th Saturday Group brown bagger (Mike's & LA's): Dark inky red color. Aromas of blackberry and dark fruit with meaty undertones. Tannins are integrating nicely; blackberry and dark fruit flavors dominant. Long finish.

Fruit and alcohol still dominate the nose, quite dry, tannins fully integrated. Can't help thinking this would have been a 95 plus wine if it had been made with slightly less ripe fruit and 13% alcohol instead of nearly 15%... Still, quite good.

Wow ... did we enjoy this bottle! We FINALLY had a night to ourselves and were planning on having beef fillets. I decanted this about an hour before we ate and put it in the frig for about 20 mins to cool it down a little. The wine was absolutely smashing with the beef! It had great fruit, balanced tannis and a long finish. This is turn your lips blue, stain you teeth petite sirah. I'll be looking for some more!!

pop and pour. Over the top - is this petite syrah or Aussie Shiraz? all fruit with a tiny bit of black pepper on the back end of the nose. lots of aged oak but pretty nicely integrated and with a little curry powder on the nose. tannins are still gripping but not so much as to be off putting. lots of life left in this big boy. and for 20 bucks? insane QPR

Dark, inky, full bodied with a great finish. Kind of weak on the nose, but a great fruit forward PS with a lot of character. I did not decant, and as it lingered in the glass, it started to open up a little. I suggest decanting first to see what it's capable of.

Decanted 1 hour. Sediment had settled in bottle. Nose of grape, spicy plum and berries. Inky, almost opaque. Powerful wine, full of fruit and hint of floral. Plum & berries in mouth, light sweet oak; tannins were full and coating. Nice drying finish that lasted. As the nigh wore on it tamed down. A nice wine for those who like a "big" wine.

It's a delightful wine to drink. Wine doesn't get any darker than this. Chewy, inky, extracted yet elegant wines with grapey, peppery plum, wild berry, herb and spicy floral notes. The tannins are what you might expect from a wine of this size—mouthcoating. Served with a nice thick NewYork Strip

Deep ruby. A nose of raspberry, plum, and forest floor, along with notes of pepper, spice, and vanilla. The palate is full of sweet red fruits and pepper, as well as hints of toasty wood, and vanilla. The tannins are ripe, with a long, spicy finish. Very tasty.

Intense and Dark, Layers of fruit, mostly plum, some cherry, and a spicy note. Complex nose had a hint of Lavendar or other flower. Deep tannins and a long-lasting finish. Intense, with the tannins hitting you throughout the palate. Lots of sediment, not sure why, must be decanted or you will get a surprise.

Fat Tuesday at the Haggis House: This was brought by Allreds girlfriend since he couls not make it. 90% Petite Sirah, 8% Zinfandel and 2% Carignane. I liked this quite a bit. Medium bodied with an earthy nose. Drinking well for being so young. Chewy texture with notes of chocolatey raspberries and currant. Some spice on the fruity finish. 90 points.

deeply concentrated and black. nose of cherries, briarwood, and dark chocolate. Mouthcoating tannins. Sweet oak, overripe raspberries and a touch of mint in the mouth. Is a beast now but still somewhat balanced and very much petite sirah.

Mid-winter tasting (Gibby's Wine Den): This was double decanted prior to the tasting. 8% Zinfandel and 2% Carignane blended in. Inky garnet color. Faint earthy notes are almost lost amidst the dark, brooding fruit aromas. Big tannins, along with plenty of huge dark fruit and blueberries. This is one that'll stain your teeth instantly. Wine of the tasting. $23.95.

One of my favorite Petite Sirah producers and this vintage again delivers big extracted fruit of plum, boysenberry, blackberry and spice. Dark purple almost black in color. Well balanced tannins and lush, lingering finish.

Dinner club at Steve & Barb's house. Purple in the glass and surprisingly open for a young Petite Sirah. Open nose and palate of primarily raspberries followed by a long, drying finish with almost chalky tannins. 50+11+11+7+7 = 86

Dark color. Fabulous powerful nose. Seemed rather hard and tannic at first but became much smoother with some air time. Very enjoyable.

Still great. I does need some air as it gets better after about an hour. Strong and powerful, needs the right meal, but can also stand on it's own.
