Another of wifey’s seafood risottos and our last bottle of a half case and yet again a lovely combination. There is still just a hint of citrus minerality although as the colour suggests this wine is beginning to put on old age weight. My advice would be to drink soon, it would be a pity to miss this particular boat.

I see from my earlier notes that we tend to drink this wine with luxury seafood and this was no exception. My wife does a divine shellfish risotto and this was a lovely accompaniment. Possibly time to drink up

Subtle delightful if perhaps lacking a little weight or the gravitas one might expect from a maturing Chablis Grand Cru - still a very pleasant accompaniment to Glenarm Organic Salmon

Leaving DC Dinner (Ripple - Cleveland Park, Washington, D.C.): I didn't get much on the nose at first but tones of seashells, lemons and herbs did build with time. Its palate was energetic and youthful with vivid citrus, mineral and white floral tones. Somewhat disappointed in how this showed as I've come to expect more complexity from Les Clos.

Weygandt Selections - Annual Portfolio Tasting (Astor Place - New York, NY): Has the typical density of what I've come to expect from Les Clos. It has extreme length, dense florals, chalkdust and peaches. Sometimes wines from Les Clos can be too broad shouldered for me, but this one was really nice.

Consistent with previous notes - still drinking well and should continue to so for few years yet. Drank deliciously with pan fried Halibut

A lovely balance between a creamy richness and the pronounced lean minerality so typical of Chablis

Looks to have a great future - drunk alongside a premier cru, this was definitely fuller with a pleasing finish - drank well with lobster risotto
