Still solid with dark core of black tar, fruit is muted but pleasant, finish in long, and really nice. This wine needed to be drank now/soon as it's on the back side of peak but still really good. My last bottle.

Medium ruby color. Nose of raspberry jam, roasted plum, fig, some floral notes and a bit of toasted oak. Slight bit of alcohol coming through as well. Plenty of fruit still on the palate along with some baking spice and oak notes but the fruit seemed a bit more baked/jammy and definitely a bit of alcohol on the finish. Medium acid at best. Medium tannin. Full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel but high alcohol. Overall, still enjoyable due to the amount of fruit that is present but I would drink up if holding any as this will only go downhill from here.

Had a glass at Walla Walla Steak. Really nice. The years have rounded any edges this wine might have had. Smooth, smooth, smooth. Still nice fruit and nose of earthy floor and moderate finish. Went great with the steak

This wine is all about texture. Beautiful cherry and vanilla aromas, flavors to match. But the feeling this wine has on your tongue, so impressive. Certainly time to drink up though.

Very tasty and drinking great right now. Drank a half bottle with Christine then Argon-ed and finished off later in the week with the "kids". Well balanced with pronounced cherry cordial, smokiness, smooth tannins, silky medium to full body. Excellent QPR, especially at the club price, drinking at twice its cost.

Opened, poured into decanter and served. Everyone liked this a lot. “Cherry” and “brandy cherries” was the prevailing sentiment. Bottle didn’t last long.

Really quite enjoyable. Easy drinking right from the open, with silky integrated tannins, a pleasant smokey undertone and beautiful fruit. Day 2 was probably a 1/2 step down from Day 1, but still very enjoyable.

This was a very smooth and easy drinking Rhone Blend from Columbia Valley. The nose is screaming with fruit, but not much else. It was truly delicious, but I would like to see what some more time could do for any potential tertiary characteristics.
Drink now through 2029.

Vertical with 2007-2011. More French than the other vintages, with more pepper and earth to compliment the black fruit and oak. Medium weight and medium finish.

P&P. Surprisingly youthful at 10 years past vintage, just starting to show some signs of age. Black and blue fruit, baking spices and violets. Drink now - 2024.

A few extra years was just what this wine needed. Quick decant. Medium purple color. Great nose of blackberry, violet, perfume, black pepper and roasted black plum. Very fragrant. Similar flavors on the palate with dark black and blue fruits and a bit of toasty oak on the back end. Medium acid, medium+ tannin and body. Smooth finish. Drinking very well right now but room to grow.

Drinking nicely. A bit of a muted nose but has some nice notes of earthy black/plum fruit. Pretty rustic but wrapped in some dark ripe fruit with some notes of tar or coffee.

P&P, paired with pot roast. Amazing wine, very lush and mouthcoating. Lovely perfume of blackberry and leather. Flavors of blackberry and espresso with a nice floral component. Drinking really well right now, right from the pop, and holding steady for the following 3 hours. Great stuff! Drink now - 2019/2020.

Pnp and very tightly wound right out of the bottle. Slowly opened up through last glass to expose some nice complexity, earthiness, soil and smoke. Decant if you can.

Dark ruby with plum nose. Dry with light fruit and body, more restrained than previous vintages and in line with other GSM blends I find appealing, not a typical WA fruit forward jammy wine. Drinking very well on opening with some light cola, cherries and red currants.

Needs a good decant. Black pepper and spice tones, very lively and still a little rough around the edges. My opinion is this is a hold for a couple more years, its either going to integrate more or just be a slightly off vintage compared to the blockbuster 2007. Still good but hoping there is a couple point upside down the road.

Opened and let sit for 3 hours, drank over 2 hours. Medium nose of dark fruit. Black/Blue fruit on the palate with a hint of spice, Fruit driven. Very Smooth mouth feel. Medium acid and tannin. Medium fruit finish. Needs a little more complexity in the mid palate. First of 3 bottles.

I was disappointed in this wine. 2007 is one of my favorite wines ever. This was decent but definitely not up to par. Particularly for $50. Nose didn't even give hints of syrah at times.

Decanted for around 1 hour. Inky, dark purple color. Big nose of ripe black and blue fruit, black licorice and reduced fruit jam with some vanilla and oak in the background. Blueberry pie flavors on the palate with a bit of spice but mostly a very fruit driven wine. Medium+ acid and tannins, smooth mouthfeel and a touch of heat on the back end. I think this wine needs more time to come together and I will not touch my remaining bottles for another 2-3 years. Good potential though.

Decanted for about an hour before drinking with grilled filet mignon, then drank over the course of 4 hours. It was initially pretty tannic and not quite together. At about 3 hours in the decanter, it was in a great spot. Aroma has plum, along with a bit of smokiness and tobacco. Taste is great dark fruit - blackberry and plum. I really liked this after it came around. I think my other bottle is probably best after at least a couple years.

Decanted 2 hours, consumed with veal saltimbocca. Fresh, ripe dark fruit on the nose. Medium concentration on the palate, I would say fruit forward but in no way overblown and underlying structure to hold it together well. Dark flesh and berry fruit, hint of spice. Nicely balanced and integrated. Tannins remain but are unobtrusive with a medium/short finish. Excellent. Drink now with decant but may provide increased enjoyment with more bottle time.

Popped and poured which could have been a bit of a mistake, as it seemed like the wine opened up and drank better as the night went on. Drank over the course of two hours. When first opened there was a funky aftertaste on the palate that went away and became smoother. Nose seemed muted through out, but had notes of strawberries and earth. Palate was smooth after an hour in the glass, with a nice mouth feel and maybe strawberries/blackberries on the finish. Next bottle I will decant and let sit for an hour or more before drinking. Much better then last bottle of this I drank.

This is the second bottle of this wine I opened, I was very disappointed when I opened the first bottle and hoped the next bottle would be better, I was wrong. This wine is all over the place, disjointed tannins and acid with some fruit in the back ground, going various directions. I know a lot people love this maker, but I have to question what is going on here, at this price point I can get stellar Rhone blends from Gigondas or CdP, that have structure and direction. I have a couple more bottles of this wine and will leave them alone for a time in hopes of a miracle.

Spontaneous Blind Tuesday night Rhone Varietals (Portland, Oregon): Nose showed hot full dark fruit flavors with a little spice meat. Flavors were big young sweet dark fruit, some savory spices, pepper. Big wine, almost bruising. Young. Finished a little hot as well. Needs a healthy decant...several hours. Predict much improvement with age and significant aeration
Guessed Washington rhone blend.

In my experience the Rasa wines have shown a seemless texture well-matched with fruit purity and exquisite balance, and this example is the epitome of the house style. Aromas of persimmon, rhubarb, garrigue, and incense followed by waves of black cherry fruit along with raspberry and roasted plum. Decanted during the superbowl blackout for better luck which has paid off so far. 92+
