A few minutes in the glass; strawberries and mint are the main components on the nose, and something else that I’ve never tasted before so I can’t really explain it. Such an interesting and different wine. It’s rather unique and wild but at the same time elegant. Starts of with more power than I expected on the palate. Fruit driven but not jammy, still very much alive and serves a long and medium dry finish. Tannins are smooth and there’s no alcohol to notice. This was an absolute outstanding surprise of a wine that I thought was over the top. It might have been even more lively some years ago, but this was far from too old. Different in the best meaning of the word

Last bottle. And I must say--it was super! Lovely, fairly clear red. Alluring aromas. Great mouthfeel. Good lush fruit balanced with nice acidity and integrated tannins. Must rush to buy the current release, which is incredibly at the same price point as this one from seven years ago. Good to drink with or without food, and lasted very well into the second day.

Powerful and beautifully balanced juice. Dark and full of christmas-spices and starting to show tertary notes of dried fruits, leather and sweetness. A very impressive wine. My single last bottle will wait 1-2 years. Would buy more if they were available.

A great wine for wine geeks, but not the best for your casual wine drinking friend. Mostly dominated by earthy, leathery & tobacco notes, with a good dose of tart cherry or cranberry. Complex with a constantly changing combination of flavors. If you like the funky style, these are a steal at around $20. I always think these need at least an extra year in the bottle, but are really unique wines after that.

The wine looks Garnet colored. The legs are Slow. It smells like Clove, Cinnamon, and Cool/Menthol. It tastes like Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Clove, Strawberry Jam, Cool/Menthol, and Blackberry. The body is Light/Medium. The wine has Juicy texture. The wine finishes Medium.

This is a wild ride of a wine with flavours coming from all angles and changing with every hour. Fairly high in alcohol but not intrusive, it has good acidity and some tannin in the background. It seemed thin right out of the bottle but appeared to become more dense and fuller in body with airing. Definitely a fun wine to drink. Worth buying more. Much more.

This bottle was imminently enjoyed, despite alcohol level higher than we normally like- the wine presented-bright, clear color, outgoing aromas, and plenty of fun red fruits, with perceptible but unobtrusive tannin and nice acid lift. We have found that for our taste many California wines are tedious to drink (as opposed to tasting). This one was a nice exception.

A blend of Sang-Syr-Mou....Forward and opulent nose with cherries, meat, vanilla and new oak. Broad and rich with kicking acidity and supple tannins that balances generous alcohol and full body. Endless aftertaste.

This was fairly wild but not totally whacky. I enjoyed it. The colour is rather brown and there is a smell of mocha and raspberries along with a little VA and firm but not rough tannins. Medium body. Somehow it all works....at least in my view.

Color: Pale Ruby with faint/light bricking at the rim Smell: How can others not have noted the thyme, rosemarry, wheat grass nose on this? Once past those wildly interesting scents it ebbs into a light red fruit note that is followed by a slight alcoholic burn in the nostril...or is that just black pepper? Taste: Cherry, blueberry, strawberry, cranberry, lingering VA, and light notes of all spice and clove. Overall: Light-medium in body, medium acidity, medium fruit, and just a wild experience...I'm usually overtly harsh on wines where I notice the alcohol...but I'm fine with this because it's just that interesting...the VA reminds me a bit of Musar...and I have a soft spot for that wine. So heed my words...this is not for everyone. If you like the "yummy" typical California style...this may not be for you. It is food friendly...and went well with both seared scallops and wild mushroom risotto. I would gladly buy this again...even though it's not getting the coveted 90 points.

This wine is an adventure! Enjoyed it for a whole evening, and every sip was intense spicy concentrated joy! This is a wine unlike any other I've tasted. I want to marry this wine. My girlfriend might not agree...

Not the most interesting and complex of the Pleaides, but one of the more plump and delicious. Goes down easy. No herbal streak left. No eucalyptus. Maybe with age some secondary layers will emerge.
