First night this was popped and poured and it seemed pleasant enough but nothing to write home about. Second night was a different experience, knockout nose of red fruit and pinot spice, gliding into a juicy palate, slightly sweet, tempered by acid, and a long finish. Luckily there was lots left to drink the second day, when it had fully opened. At $17 an amazing QPR.

Friendly and fruity, this is a very much a CA pinot. The nose has a bit of alc on it, and the palate has a bit too much glycerine, but it would be a certain crowd pleaser and I paid $16, which is a good value. I hadn't tried a CA PN in a while and this reminded me exactly of both the good and bad in that category. A nice, simple, slightly too-forward drink.

Oodles and oodles of bright red berries in the aromatics right out of the gate and though mellowing a little with time opened, it doesn't disappear; instead, developing complexity with some herbal essences. The level of acidity is notable though a tad on the tart side. Finish is simple; almost flat/thin. At best a non-critical quaffer and one that does disservice to Siduri's reputation, IMHO.

2009 California Chardonnays (Bi-weekly group blind tasting at Tom's House): Just a fruity, floral, juicy tasty wine. Oak, Vanilla, floral, some green stemmy flavor. Others noted the burning alcohol, it did not bother me much at all and I am sensitive to high octane pinot. I think at $19 its a very good wine for the price.

See "flyinburrito" comment on 3/10. I thought it was dead on. One point of emphasis: this wine really opens up with enough air and time. We pour through a Venturi and let it sit in glass for about 20 minutes. It was good, but still continued to improve over the next 2 hours. For an under $20 Pinot, excellent QPR.

Had some Sonoma, barnyard funk at first. Soon blew-off. Had over a couple of days, and got better each day. So I would say give it a big decant, and/or give it more time to lie. Otherwise, basic Sonoma County Pinot. Would drink more of it.

I enjoyed this wine though it wasn't really remarkable. The nose was good but not stunning, color the same. Medium to full bodied, it went down easily but not really memorable. So no flaws but no real umph.

Dark barely translucent garnet color. Offers up many different youthful aromas such as violets, tar, smoke, bright red fruits and mushroomy funkiness. Palate is very "Siduri", i.e. funky yet rich velvety texture. Acidity kicks in on the back end. Little heat. Although I somewhat agree with CG's past ratings of this wine (not much focus and venturing off the varietal path), it is tasty to drink and will do fine at the table and for under $20, not a bad buy at all. Quick note - first night opened, the wine was very muddled and seemed to be all over the place. Second night, wine showed much better, more focus and pungent varietal character.

I picked up 8 of these from the winery for mid-week consumption. This really hits the spot. Works as a food wine or as a stand alone. Fresh, clean, tart cherry with some hard cherry candy notes; ends with a slight sour finish. Great and solid QPR. Good.

Dark and tart pinot. A little smokey on the nose. This one might be better with more aging. Kinda hard to drink for a 30 dollar pinot.
