My first GV. Restrained on the nose. Different story on the palate - mineral with vibrant acidity and a hint of peppery spiciness on the medium+ finish. Not a life changer, but suits my palate and will be definitely coming back for more..

My first Gruner Veltliner. I might say the nose wasnt much but it did sing on the palate, nicely balanced and easy on the taste buds. I found it to be vibrant with floral floral aromas and flavors of pear and citrus. I did taste a bit of minerals, but I feel this struck a good balance with the citrus making the acidity refreshing almost palate cleansing.

4th Saturday Group brown bagger (Rick's & Cris'): Wasn't sure what to make of this. Aromas of citrus, lemongrass and honeysuckle. Pineapple, tropical fruit and peach notes on the palate, with nice underlying acidity. I liked it quite a bit, but it went downhill quickly, developng an odd cheesy aroma that was a real turnoff. Had some spritz to it as well. None of us guessed Gruner.

Cool, clear, pale lemon yellow color. Well structured nose with notes of honey, asian pear, citrus, sea air and mineral which carries onto the palate. Well integrated flavors and good acid ROCK with my wife's grilled cheese, bacon and onion with sriracha sauce sandwiches. Drink now to 2012.

Unscrewed and poured. Pale yellow gold. The nose is restrained, but shows some nice Asian pear notes. Great mouthfeel. Refreshingly acidic, but balanced with green apple and more pear notes. A hint of lemon as well. Good length and just mouthwateringly dry.
These just showed up at Costco and I was buying scallops, so I figured why not? Will make a good one for warm summer nights.

This producer hasn't failed me with their GV's...this one is just off the vines, and named after i think a daughter. Does it make me sing? Well only if i'm watching Canadian Idol and had a few glasses perhaps. This is complex and interesting. Nice solo and would match alright with the typical food pairings. The nose has nice overlays of ?bannana, apricots, stone fruit? The palate has some acidity, and similar notes that you get on the nose, along with some pineapple on the finish. A little efferevesent which i like. Not sweet at all, well balanced. This rivals some SB's from NZ and has good price point. I will pick up some more for sure!

Nose is steely, salty, a little lemon. Crisp, fairly round, very dry, lemon essence and subtle herb. Pretty good w/ food. Good summer wine.

Light bodied but adequate flavor concentration. Citrus and herbs on the palate. Nice acidity but a bit hollow mid palate and weak finish.

The light refreshing taste of this wine goes so well with food. A slight touch a citrus makes it a great sipping wine.
